Washington, D.C. – Today, the Senate Judiciary Committee will meet and vote on Robert Chatigny’s nomination to the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals. Concerned Women for America strongly opposes his nomination.

“Robert Chatigny has abused his judicial position to demonstrate his empathy for sexual offenders. His preference for these criminals over their victims violates judicial ethics of impartiality and sends the message that violence against women and girls is acceptable.

“Specifically, Robert Chatigny’s despicable actions in the case against Michael Ross, convicted murderer of eight women and girls, led to seven state prosecutors filing complaints of violations of judicial ethics against him. He is simply unfit for this high judicial position.

“It will be abundantly clear after this vote that a senator who votes for Robert Chatigny agrees with his ’empathy’ for sex offenders, sadists, rapists, and murderers of women and girls,” said Penny Nance, CEO of Concerned Women for America.
