We are thrilled to welcome back Penny Morrell, who, after taking a hiatus, is returning to serve as Concerned Women for America’s (CWA) Maine State Director!
Penny has been involved with CWA since the early 1990s, serving over the years as a CWA of Maine Legislative Liaison, Area Director, and State Director.
Penny and her husband, Barry, live in Belgrade and have two children and five grandchildren. She is a former selectman for the town of Belgrade and has served on the town budget committee. She currently serves on the senior resource committee, public works committee, and planning board.
Throughout her years with CWA, Penny worked to build a network of Prayer/Action Chapters across the state, engaged in public policy, lobbied on issues affecting the sanctity of life and the family, and helped organize pro-life and pro-family rallies. Now, she is ready to lead and grow the ministry of CWA of Maine once again.

“I love that CWA is rooted in prayer and action. I firmly believe we fight our battles on our knees. We can do nothing before we pray, and we can acco
mplish for God’s glory anything He calls us to after praying.
“As I step back into leadership, I look forward to continuing to provide a Christian conservative women’s voice on current issues in Maine and building a network of Prayer/Action Chapters across the state. My focus will be on reaching individuals and churches and helping Christians recognize the precarious situation in which we find our state and nation. It is critical that Christians stand, speak, vote, and engage so we may once again be one nation under God. ‘Samuel Adams called liberty ‘the choicest gift that heaven has lent to man,’ reminding us just how precious our God-given liberty is and how important it is that we stand to preserve it.”
