Elections – Are they worth my time?

I’m sure many are asking, “Is voting worth my time?” The answer is YES!

One of the most important reasons to vote is that we are called to be faithful citizens of God’s Kingdom as we live and serve in the world around us. Philippians 3:20 reminds us, “But our citizenship is in heaven …” and Romans 13:1 teaches that governing authorities are established under God’s sovereign authority.

Throughout Scripture, God’s people were never called to withdraw from culture, but to stand for truth, righteousness, justice, and mercy in the midst of it. In Kansas, where so many battles are taking place, our engagement matters deeply. If believers remain silent, others will shape the future for our children, families, schools, and communities.

As citizens of the United States and the State of Kansas, we have both the privilege and the responsibility to participate in our constitutional republic. Voting is one of the most practical ways we can be “salt and light” in our generation (Matthew 5:13–16).

Elections influence the direction of our state. They impact parental rights, education, public safety, religious liberty, the sanctity of life, the economy, and the values reflected in our laws and institutions.

I encourage you to prayerfully research candidates and ballot measures, compare their positions with Biblical principles, and seek the Lord’s wisdom as you prepare to vote.

Three Simple Ways to Make a Difference – Please Join Us!

  1. Pray
As a Christian organization, we are first and foremost committed to prayer. As Election Day approaches, will you join us in praying for our state and nation?  Set aside time each day to pray for voters, candidates, elected officials, and the future of Kansas. Set an alarm on your phone, place a reminder on your calendar, or write a note where you’ll see it each day.
  2. Encourage
We are also committed to educating and encouraging others to participate in the election process. Encourage your friends, family, church members, and neighbors to become informed voters. Share election information through conversations, email, social media, and other opportunities God provides.
  3. Vote
As citizens and Christians, we have the responsibility to engage in the process through both prayer and voting. Government is an institution ordained by God (Romans 13:1-4), and voting is one way we exercise faithful stewardship of the freedoms we have been given.

Thank you for standing with Concerned Women for America of Kansas as we seek to protect and promote Biblical values through prayer, education, and action. Your voice matters. Your vote matters. And when people of faith pray, engage, and stand courageously for the truth, we can help shape Kansas’ future for generations to come.
