WASHINGTON, DC – Concerned Women for America (CWA) issued a statement in response to the U.S. Supreme Court decision to stay the Fifth Circuit Court ruling that banned abortion drugs from being sent through the mail.
“We are saddened that the Supreme Court has issued an administrative stay halting the Fifth Circuit’s ruling that temporarily reinstated the Food and Drug Administration’s rules to protect mothers and babies by requiring in-person doctor visits from patients wishing to obtain abortion drugs while the litigation continues. But we are hopeful that the Court will permit the Fifth Circuit’s ruling to stand, once it has been fully briefed on the issues at stake this week,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President, Concerned Women for America.
“The Biden Administration unlawfully allowed abortion pills to be mailed, putting women in harm’s way and at risk of being coerced into taking abortion pills against their will. The health of mothers and babies should be of utmost importance to the Court, and it should not interfere with Louisiana’s attempt to show respect and value for every human life within its borders.”
