WASHINGTON, DC – Concerned Women for America (CWA) lauded the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit decision to temporarily halt mail-order abortion drugs and institute the requirement to obtain them in person.
“This court ruling will protect human life – both the life of the mother and the unborn child. The Biden Administration unlawfully allowed abortion pills to be mailed, putting women in harm’s way and at risk of being coerced into taking abortion pills against their will. We hope the court will make this a permanent ban,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President, Concerned Women for America.
“Chemical abortion drugs are unsafe. The FDA’s own black box label on Mifepristone warns that one in 25 women will end up in the emergency room. This extremely dangerous drug has been administered without medical oversight and has been used to coerce women into believing that abortion is as safe and easy as just popping any other pill. Instead, women are left struggling to recover from the physical effects of Mifepristone on top of the psychological trauma of ending the life of their baby,” said Nance.
