“So God created mankind in His own image…
male and female He created them.”
– Genesis 1:27
Yep, you read that right. Denver’s East High School started the new school year with “all gender” restrooms! Their policy change is reflective of “Denver Public Schools LGBTQ+ Toolkit” which allows students to use restrooms that correspond to their “gender identity,” not their biological sex.
Praise Report
Thankfully, the U.S. Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights (OCR) has found Denver Public Schools (DPS) in violation of Title IX’s prohibition against sex discrimination. An investigation is underway by OCR, which has stated that DPS created a hostile environment, endangered the safety of students, and denied students’ privacy and dignity. OCR has given DPS 10 days to resolve the Title IX violation or risk loss of federal Title IX funding.
This is a victory worth celebrating, but we cannot grow complacent. While the investigation is a step in the right direction, the battle for truth and protection of our students is far from over. We must continue to pray and seek God’s intervention until His design and righteousness are restored in our schools.
Pray with Me
- Praise God that the Office of Civil Rights is holding DPS accountable to Title IX protections.
- Pray for the safety, privacy, and dignity of all students and for courage to stand firm in truth and righteousness.
- Pray for DPS Leadership to resolve the violation by reinstating gender-specific restrooms that align with God’s design.
- Ask the Lord to bring revival to Colorado’s schools, universities, and colleges – turning hearts back to Him.
Father God, we acknowledge Your perfect design of male and female in Your image. We lift this situation before You and ask for Your divine intervention. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
