CWA’s She Prays She Votes GOTV 2024 Campaign Crucial in Pennsylvania and Beyond

It was an impressive win for President Donald J. Trump last night to become the 47th President of the United States. His win in Pennsylvania was pivotal to his victory. Vice President Kamala Harris won just eight of the state’s 67 counties. This means that President Trump won an impressive 59 of them.

It was still a very close contest, but President Trump got almost 100,000 more votes this time than in 2020—nearly 500,000 more than in 2016.

Concerned Women for America (CWA) led various efforts to “Get Out the Vote” (GOTV) nationwide but concentrated in several battleground states, including Pennsylvania. The state was heavy on our CEO and President Penny Nance’s heart, so we focused our attention on educating Christian voters in the state.

Our She Prays She Votes Bus Tour made key stops in the state. We reached out to about 200 faith leaders directly. We contacted Christian voters through a comprehensive outreach campaign that included hundreds of thousands of emails, phone messages, texts, and social media posts. And, of course, our grassroots activists were engaged at every level, registering people to vote and educating them on the importance of civic engagement.

We also ran a powerful billboard campaign inspiring Christians to go vote. We had more than 110 strategically placed billboards across Pennsylvania in 32 counties, reaching 1.3 million people every single day for a couple of weeks until Election Day, reaching more than 26 million people statewide.

We had two different billboards with important non-partisan messages. The first said, “40 million Christians don’t vote. Pray about it!” And the other said, “God Created Them Male & Female. Defend Your Daughters. Vote.” We are proud of the work and praise God as the engagement rises and Christian voters become more involved.

Through it all, we prayed daily for our leaders and the election.

One source breaks down the religious vote this way:

The work continues going forward, right now through President Biden’s remaining time in office, and starting in the upcoming year with President Donald Trump. Help us to keep them in prayer and stay connected with us at ConcernedWomen.org for the latest news and opportunities for engagement.
