Washington D.C. – Today Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC), the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization, blasted the FY 2025 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) that includes a provision requiring young women to register with the Selective Service for a potential military draft.

This monumental policy change would force the U.S.  military to erase key biological differences between males and females that will affect readiness in wartime. Further, the provision gives the federal government blanket discretion to institute a draft for any number of unspecified reasons.

“Language forcing women to register for Selective Service and language specifically prohibiting military leaders for making decisions based on sex is disastrous policy that will cost lives,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President of CWALAC.

“It is an insult to the inherent dignity and intrinsic value of women to include them in the draft and any country that gambles the lives of its daughter on foreign wars threatens its own future. The Senate should not buy into the lie that women’s equality with men means that the sexes are the same. Drafting our daughters should not be a political ploy used to secure funds for the military.

“Concerned Women for America admires and supports the strong, patriotic women who volunteer for military service, but we do not believe the destructive lie that women’s equality means sameness with men. American women do not need to be conscripted to fight on the frontline of war to prove their worth.

“Sacrificing our young women on the altar of faux equality is a clear dealbreaker. We reject the shameful fallacy that Congress must rubber stamp this social experimentation. An NDAA that drafts our daughters and granddaughters is a non-starter, and we call on members of courage to oppose its advancement and will rally opposition to it from American women.”

CWALAC will include this vote in its annual Congressional scorecard.
