The 2024 elections are upon us, and we need your help to ensure that every eligible vote counts in Michigan! Here are ways to engage:
- Serve as election challengers and poll watchers during early voting and on Election Day. You can learn about poll watchers in Michigan here. Click here for poll watcher qualifications by state and here for laws governing observers by state.
- Serve as county poll workers. You can learn about poll workers in Michigan here. Use can also use the poll worker lookup tool to find information on being a poll worker in your community, including requirements, hours, pay, training, and more.
- Ensure Michiganns are registered to vote. We have made it easy for you. Download our Conducting a Voter Registration Drive: Instructions and Helpful Tips.

Primary Election Dates:
- July 7: Early voting for primary can begin if municipalities opt in.
- July 22: Deadline to register by mail or online to be eligible to vote in the August election. You can register in-person through Election Day at your local clerk’s office.
- July 27: Nine days of early voting before the primary begins
- August 4: Last day of early voting.
- August 6: Primary election. Polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. Voters in line at 8 p.m. can still cast ballots.
General Election Dates
- October 6: Early voting for general election can begin if municipalities opt in.
- October 22: In-person registration with local clerk with proof of residency allowed between now and Election Day
- October 24: Nine days of early voting must begin for general election
- November 3: Last day of early voting
- November 5: General election. Polls open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 8:00 p.m. Voters in line at 8 p.m. can still cast ballots.
