The 2024 elections are upon us, and we need your help to ensure that every eligible vote counts in Alabama! Here are ways to engage:
- Serve as challengers and watchers during early voting and on Election Day. Reach out to your local Republican or Democrat parties for information on qualifications and how to apply.
- Serve as Officer of Elections/Election Officer (poll workers.) Learn about Officers of Elections in Alabama and how to apply here. Use can also use the poll worker lookup tool to find information on being a poll worker in your community, including requirements, hours, pay, training, and more.
- Ensure Alabamans are registered to vote. We have made it easy for you. Download our Conducting a Voter Registration Drive: Instructions and Helpful Tips.

Election Dates
Primary Election
- Friday, February 16 – Last day to hand-deliver voter registration forms
- Saturday, February 17 – Last day to postmark voter registration forms.
- Monday, February 19 – Last day to register to vote electronically.
- Tuesday, February 27 – Last day to apply for an absentee ballot to mail.
- Thursday, February 29 – Last day to apply for an absentee ballot in person.
- Monday, March 4 – Last day to hand-deliver absentee ballot
- Tuesday, March 5 – Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received by noon.
- Tuesday, March 5 – Primary Election, Polling hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Primary Runoff Election (if necessary)
- Monday, April 1 – Voter registration deadline
- Tuesday, April 9 – Last day to apply for an absentee ballot by mail.
- Thursday, April 11 – Last day to apply for an absentee ballot in person.
- Monday, April 15 – Last day to hand-deliver absentee ballot
- Tuesday, April 16 – Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received by noon
- Tuesday, April 16, 2024 – Primary Runoff Election, Polling hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
General Election
- Monday, October 21 – Voter registration deadline.
- Tuesday October 29 – Last day to apply for an absentee ballot by mail.
- Friday, October 31 – Last day to apply for an absentee ballot in person.
- Monday, November 4 – Last day to hand-deliver an absentee ballot.
- Tuesday, November 5 – Absentee ballots returned by mail must be received by noon.
- Tuesday, November 5 – General Election, Polling hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
