Urgent Action Needed! Abortion Bill is Moving!

By May 13, 2019Maine

L.D. 820 passed the state House on Tuesday, May 7, by a vote of 79 to 63 and is expected to be voted on in the state Senate on Tuesday, May 14. L.D. 820 will force insurance companies to include abortion coverage in their health plans and require the Maine Department of Health and Human Services to pay for abortions for those enrolled in MaineCare. This bill is an affront to any thoughtful person and taxpayer, and it must be stopped.

Take Action!

  1. Take a stand for life by coming to the Capitol next Tuesday, May 14. For those who were at the Capitol last week and picked up a baby-blue t-shirt, please wear it again to show your support for life and opposition to L.D. 820. If you are coming for the first time next week and have a baby-blue color shirt, please wear it. We will meet in the hall of the Senate.
  2. Call and/or e-mail your state senator and ask him or her to oppose L.D. 820. Find your senator alphabetically by the town in which you live. You can also call the Senate at 287-1540 and leave a message for your lawmaker asking him or her to oppose L.D. 820. Be sure to let them know you are a constituent and a member of Concerned Women for America of Maine. This bill is destined to pass if your senator does not hear from you.
  3. Forward this e-alert to friends and family.

Please pray: Dear Father, we ask You to perform a mighty miracle and stop this abortion bill. We claim Luke 1:37 where you say, “For with God nothing will be impossible.” Thank You for using our hands and feet to stand in the gap for righteousness.  In Jesus’ Name.  Amen

These are very challenging days in Maine. I appreciate these words of encouragement from Dr. David Jeremiah, “God gives the grace we need whenever we’re pressured because of our faith – whether we’re living for Him or dying for Him. Christians are God’s ambassadors in a hostile world. Take courage, be faithful, and stand for Jesus!”

Maranatha!
