Protect North Dakota Citizens and Businesses that Support Biblical Marriage

By July 8, 2015North Dakota

PLEASE take action and pray on behalf of Biblical marriage now and ask others to do the same!

In light of the recent Supreme Court ruling on marriage, CWA of North Dakota is making moves to protect marriage in North Dakota:

First, we are asking Gov. Jack Dalrymple to protect our First Amendment rights by issuing an executive order to prevent state agencies from discriminating against or penalizing citizens and organizations that believe marriage is the union of one man and one woman.

Take Action: Please join us by calling Gov. Jack Dalrymple at (701) 328-2200, or contact him through the web, and ask him to “protect our First Amendment rights by issuing an executive order to prevent state agencies from discriminating against or penalizing citizens and organizations that believe marriage is the union of one man and one woman.”

Pray: Pray for our state and our country. May we allow faith leaders and citizens to honor God’s design for marriage which is intended to reflect the unity shared by Adam and Eve for a life time. Pray for our leaders to understand God’s design for marriage, for Genesis 2:24 says when a man and a woman commit to marry they “become one flesh”. It is the very reason we say, “Till death do us part.”

Second, CWA of North Dakota is asking our two North Dakota Senators to support and sponsor the First Amendment Defense Act, S1598. This federal piece of legislation prohibits the federal government from discriminating against any citizen, business, charity or school, based on their belief that marriage is the union of a man and woman.

Take Action: Please join us and ask Sen. John Hoeven (R-North Dakota) (202-224-2551/e-mail) and Sen. Heidi Heitkamp (D-North Dakota) (202-224-2043/e-mail) to support and sponsor the First Amendment Defense Act, S1598.

Pray: Pray that as believers we speak the truth in love. Pray for understanding that marriage is not a human convention based on a tradition or self-interest but instead, Scripture teaches that marriage is divine, not merely a human institution. It is God who joins marriage partners together. Ecclesiastes 4:12 “Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three stands is not quickly broken.”

Lastly, CWA of North Dakota has thanked Rep. Kevin Cramer (R-North Dakota-at-large District) for sponsoring the First Amendment Defense Act, HB 2802 in the House of Representatives. CWA of North Dakota is proud to know Rep. Cramer is one of the original sponsors of HB 2802!

Take Action: Please join us in thanking Rep. Kevin Cramer (202-225-2611/e-mail) for sponsoring the First Amendment Defense Act, HB 2802.

Pray: Let us stand together as Paul instructs in Ephesians 3:10-11, “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” It is through prayer God can heal and build up our families and our leaders.

It is time to support North Dakota business owners and state agency employees who believe in Biblical marriage between one man and one woman who will need protection from discrimination or penalty for their beliefs. Make phone calls, write e-mails and pray, today!

Please forward this on to friends and family and encourage them to pray and take action.
