ENDURANCE
Dear CWA of Washington Member and Friend,
Summer greetings from your state office. The leadership team of CWA of Washington is very grateful for your continued interest and support. Here on the “left coast”, it can be intimidating to step up and declare Biblical values as essential building blocks for a healthy society founded on the intact mother-father marriages and families that God prescribed for mankind in His Word. Paul encouraged us to “run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews 12:1-2). You can trust that CWA will never compromise God’s plan.
CWA Mission Statement: The mission of CWA is to protect and promote Biblical values among all citizens — first through prayer, then education, and finally by influencing our society — thereby reversing the decline in moral values in our nation.
CWA is the nation’s largest women’s public policy organization, working on the national and state levels to impact our culture. Are you ready to take your knowledge and put it into action? If so, a CWA Prayer/Action Chapter is the perfect place to do so.
“What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works?” James 2:14
First: Find out what a Prayer/Action Chapter is as well as what a typical one looks like.
Second: View the list below to see if there is a Prayer/Action Chapter in your area in which you can participate.
Third: If there is not a chapter in your area, pray and ask the Lord if He would have you start one. If you feel lead to start one, I will be happy to assist you.

The time is urgent! Prayer is our first defense against the assault on the Biblical values upon which this nation was founded. The first official act of the Continental Congress in 1774 was to call for prayer. After studying many philosophies and forms of government, our founders settled on a democratic republic based on Biblical principles to promote morality, personal responsibility and freedom. President John Adams addressed the military in 1798 with these timeless words:
“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge, or gallantry, would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.” (America’s God and Country Encyclopedia of Quotations by William J. Federer, 2000, pages 10-11)
Which religion was President Adams referring to? In his diary on July 26, 1796, Adams wrote: “The Christian religion is, above all the Religions that ever prevailed or existed in ancient or modern times, the religion of Wisdom, Virtue, Equity, and Humanity.” (ibid, page 10)
PRAYER NEEDS
For our nation: *Spiritual revival in our churches, our families, our communities, and our culture; *renewal of our role as a “city on a hill” from which freedom and Christianity are spread; *political, public and individual recognition of our need to return to God’s framework for the family of mother, father and their children; *recommitment to our original foundations in the people’s desire for liberation from tyrannical governments which do not recognize that God’s people are set free through faith in Christ Jesus and are not to submit again to a yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1), as well as Peter’s example that we must obey God rather than man (Acts 5:29) even while praying for those in authority (1 Tim. 2:1-2).
For Baronnelle Stutzman: This courageous Richland florist continues to fight for religious liberty for all of us, knowing that to compromise her Biblical values in order to avoid government persecution will ultimately do irreversible damage to her spiritual life and witness for Christ. Pray for her to endure as she runs this race and for the Christian community to continue their support for her both prayerfully and financially.
For Pastor Saeed Abedini from Boise, Idaho: Still imprisoned in Iran for his witness and desire to help others in the name of our Savior; please pray for his release from an Iranian prison and return to his family. Pray that his family will be safe here, that his wife will have more opportunities to seek his release, that our government will finally answer our prayers, and that Pastor Abedini’s body and soul will be re-energized and healed in all ways.
For Marriage: As you know, the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS) has heard the oral arguments in Obergefell v. Hodges, which will determine the legality of same-sex “marriage” for the entire nation. This decision has the potential to change our country in so many ways, particularly our First Amendment rights to freedom of religion and speech. Pray that SCOTUS will reject redefining God’s institution of one-man plus one-woman marriage, that this highest court in the land will not dare to play God with this or any other issue. Pray for concerned citizens to wake up to their responsibility to stand in the gap on this and other moral issues in our current culture.
PRAY WITHOUT CEASING, “that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” (1 Timothy 2:2)
