Washington D.C. – After wrapping up a hard-fought effort to engage and activate Christian Evangelical women in this election process, Concerned Women for America (CWA) CEO and President Penny Nance issued the following statement in response to Tuesday’s results:
“Today, Concerned Women for America members will continue to fight to save our nation from a crippling $16 trillion debt. We will work to preserve religious freedom in the courts and in the Congress. We will support a strong military and their ability to keep our nation safe. And we will fight to protect the unborn and families, and to fight the evil of sex trafficking.
“We are clearly a divided nation. Women of faith, both Evangelical and Catholic, voted their values, but we did not have the conversation needed to convince our friends and neighbors.
“As we have said, American women do not vote single issue. That means that they do not vote only on the issue of abortion, nor do they vote only on the issue of the economy. The Republicans’ insistence in unilaterally disarming on social issues means that only the Left is discussing abortion and marriage. Refusing to discuss these important issues left their candidates unprepared to intelligently engage on life.”
