Planned Parenthood’s latest annual report notes that they received a record $363 million from government grants and other taxpayer funds in 2008-2009. They set another record that year by performing over 324,000 abortions, giving Planned Parenthood the largest share of the abortion industry. As Congressman Mike Pence (R-Indiana) said, “The largest abortion provider in America should not also be the largest recipient of federal funding under Title X.” Concerned Women for America (CWA) agrees with the more than 122 cosponsors of Congressman Pence’s bill, The Title X Abortion Provider Prohibition Act, that Congress should prevent family planning funds under Title X from going to Planned Parenthood or other organizations that perform abortions.
