CONCERNED WOMEN FOR AMERICA OF WASHINGTON

ACTION ALERT

June 15, 2010

Dear Concerned Women for America of Washington Member,

I pray this action alert finds you hopeful, praising and trusting God and His Holy Word in the midst of spiritual, moral, economic, and political storms. Clearly, the battle between Biblical and secular worldviews is intensifying. Liberalism, progressivism and false religions seem intent on destroying the Judeo-Christian traditions upon which our nation was built, whether in the spiritual, moral or public policy realm. Nevertheless, Concerned Women for America continues to stand in the gap in the cultural wall to promote and protect Biblical values amongst all citizens.

CWA of Washington leaders are praying, educating and taking action within our state to restore the moral fiber that has held this country together for over two hundred years.

We work hard to keep our members informed about issues of importance to Biblical believers, focusing on CWA’s six core issues of sanctity of life, the family, religious liberty, education, pornography and national sovereignty. Our Prayer/Action Chapters meet to pray for those issues, and through our action alerts and newsletters, we strive to encourage our members to stand in the cultural battlefield, always strapping on God’s spiritual armor and undergirding all we do with prayer and reliance upon God’s Holy Word.

We now have sixteen Prayer Action Chapter Leaders and five Home Team Captains plus a growing Steering Committee in the state organization. In the past year, we have co-sponsored citizen activist training meetings in Olympia, talked with state legislators, attended hearings in Olympia, worked alongside other organizations to raise a voice for the Christian community and hosted a successful state conference and a Spokane meeting. The evaluations of our activities have been very positive, and we are now planning a Vancouver meeting and a May 2011 state conference. Our motivation is to train leaders and members on how and where to stand against the forces of evil that have invaded the American culture and family, beginning in our own communities.

In 2010, CWA national is having Leadership Training Conferences around the nation. Our regional conference will be on September 18 in Irvine, California, at the Hilton Irvine Hotel. You are invited to attend that conference. My goal is to have at least five of our state leaders at that conference. In order to do that, I need to be able to offer scholarships to CWA of Washington leaders. I estimate the cost at about $385/person. I am appealing to you to help us achieve that goal. If you are able, please consider sending a tax-deductible gift at this time. Any amount will help reach our goal. If you are not able to help financially right now, do you have airline miles you would donate so that we can lower the airfare for one leader?

We appreciate your partnership with CWA of Washington and ask that you continue to pray for the organization and for our leaders in particular to be able to stand strong to promote and protect the Biblical values we hold so dear.

In His Service,

Maureen Richardson
