In 2025, Black Mothers in Power (BMIP), an organization that views the term “mother” as a “liberatory and expansive identity – not confined by gender, biology, or traditional roles,” received $249.3K worth of federal sub-grants. While it is honorable to support moms and their babies, this organization is so politically distraught that it cannot even uphold the biological truth of what a mother is. They also invite “Drag Mothers, Earth Mothers, Mothers of Dragons, or any form of divine creation” to their services and community events. This organization is not focused on uplifting women, but rather on rejecting the truth to pursue a political agenda, and it is doing so on the taxpayer’s dime via federal grants.
Unfortunately, it’s not just BMIP that distorts the use of federal grants to promote radical political viewpoints. YWCA Northern New Jersey, an organization with the mission to “promote racial understanding and advance gender equity” and that hosts “Undoing Racism” trainings, received $541K worth of federal sub-grants in 2025. For the upcoming fiscal year, the University of Maryland has requested $1.2 million from the government to fund the JACQUES Initiative, its so-called “gender-affirming care” center.
Federal tax dollars are constantly used to put money toward diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), gender ideology, and abortion programs across our nation. These clinics, schools, and organizations are exploiting funds that could otherwise go to the foster care system, pregnancy resource centers, or local law enforcement. It is unacceptable that American citizens are forcibly financing such absurd policies.
Thankfully, the Trump Administration agrees. The White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) has introduced a new set of rules that specifically targets gender, racial, and pro-abortion ideology. The proposed rules include major reforms to the current grant system. Some of those reforms include giving the federal authorities greater power to confirm that grants are actually funding the projects for which they were requested, to require E-Verify for all grant recipients to prevent money from going to illegal immigrants, to prevent funding from going toward elective abortions, and to permit the refusal of funds for programs that were previously granted as recurring (ex, DEI and gender ideology). This means that under the proposed new set of rules, federal dollars would be prevented from being used to promote radical political programs.
Concerned Women for America (CWA) is at the forefront of this battle to combat the absurd lies infiltrating our nation. We believe that upholding Biblical truth and biological reality is common sense, and we have recently seen major victories. On June 30, we saw a Supreme Court win that ruled that states have authority to say that men cannot play in women’s sports, an issue that CWA has championed for over eight years. CWA has continued this truth-affirming effort by submitting supportive comments to the White House OMB on its impactful anti-fraud initiatives.
We will not stand idly by as our nation wastes meaningful funds on organizations that ridiculously refer to women as “birthing people.” This is unacceptable, and the American people must stand up against this perversion of federal funding. Taxpayer dollars should be used to advance the public good, not bankroll ideas that deny biological reality.
