Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life. -- Proverbs 4:23
Great News: A good bill to curtail the access of minors to pornographic material online passed out of committee Friday, January 17. It will now be voted on in the House TOMORROW, January 21.
HB1053 would require harmful websites to demand age verification in order to view the material. It would require a penalty to the website for not complying.
Porn sites receive 3.2 billion visits a month. Pornhub alone has 180 million hits a day.
The Porn industry has hijacked and captivated our children, and they know it.
Teens and children watching online pornography is a health crisis!
Journal of the American Medical Association Psychiatry says:
- Pornography produces a chemical change in our children’s brains, which, when they get older, they can’t have a normal relationship.
- Pornography is addictive, like a drug, and it quickly takes over their lives.
- Exposure to porn from ages 9 to 13 is shown to link to high-risk behaviors.
- Pornography increases sexual aggression, anxiety, and depression.
Physical abuse, including choking, is what our kids are watching, and they are watching everywhere; even schools are having a hard time controlling it. So far, nineteen states have passed age verification laws, and more are considering legislation.
