Texas Whistleblower Testifies in Congress Against Child Mutilation

Dr. Ethan Haim never expected to testify in Congress over hot-button political issues, but in the face of “fraudulent science” that harms children, he knew he couldn’t stay silent. The Texas whistleblower joined Concerned Women for America (CWA) staff on Wednesday at a House Judiciary subcommittee hearing where he told the story of the Biden Department of Justice’s weaponized attacks against him for speaking up against child mutilation.

In 2022, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton identified attempts to alter a child’s sex, whether by surgery or distributing wrong-sex hormone drugs, as “child abuse” under Texas law. However, despite this added legal clarity, Dr. Ethan Haim claims to have disturbingly uncovered Texas Children’s Hospital (TCH) continued to distribute these harmful drugs to children. While employed by the hospital, Dr. Haim anonymously exposed the illegal activity to a reporter who confirmed:

“I have obtained exclusive whistleblower documents showing that, despite its public statements, the Houston-based children’s hospital—the largest in the United States—has secretly continued to perform transgender medical interventions, including the use of implantable puberty blockers, on minor children.”

Dr. Haim later wrote, “Over the next year, the frequency of these procedures increased, and potentially hundreds more children received hormone interventions for gender dysphoria … I knew that it was my moral responsibility to expose what was happening to these children.”

He went from doctor to whistleblower and child advocate, and soon enough the Biden Department of Justice’s next target. A few hours before his graduation from surgical training, two armed Health and Human Services (HHS) agents showed up on Dr. Haim’s door to serve him a letter naming him as the target in a criminal investigation. The charges could have put Dr. Haim in prison for a decade.

This was a blatant politically charged attack. They claimed the case involved his release of medical records, but HIPPA violations launching federal criminal investigations are “extremely rare” according to his attorney, and Dr. Haim carefully redacted all private and identifiable information.

That is why Congressman Chip Roy (R-Texas-21st) who serves as Chairman of the House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government called for a hearing titled “Ending Lawfare against Whistleblowers Who Protect Children.”

Chairman Roy has been quick to call out the infestation of gender ideologies in his home state and has avidly defended Dr. Haim and Vanessa Sivadge, a TCH Nurse who also blew the whistle on illegal gender mutilation.

I attended Wednesday’s hearing to support Mrs. Sivadge and Dr. Haim, along with our YWA National Director Faith Ozenbaugh.

The hearing highlighted the previous administration’s weaponization of the Department of Justice (DOJ) in several cases, but with a particular emphasis on the devastating, chilling effects for those protecting children from gender mutilation.

“Children are being mutilated and sterilized!” Dr. Haim emphasized in the hearing. He noted weaponizing the DOJ causes a “chilling effect,” scaring dissenters from speaking up out of fear for legal attacks. His attorney claimed Dr. Haim’s case is an example of a “double standard in how the federal government treats whistleblowers depending how their disclosures help or hurt the administration in power.”

Mrs. Sivadge testified she saw TCH doctors “intentionally misdiagnose” patients in order to administer cross-sex hormones and misrepresent their sex on medical forms. Dr. Haim added that miscoding these treatments bills insurance providers without “raising any red flags.” He said these systems are “a template for how to commit medical fraud” and he suspects “this is happening all over the country, but especially in red states.”

When it comes to the mutilation of children, exposing the lies and fraud happening in children’s hospitals is vital. That’s why, especially in the cases like Dr. Haim and Mrs. Sivadge, whistleblowers must receive the highest protection from political retribution.

After assuming his authority over the Department of Justice, President Trump dropped the federal charges against Dr. Haim, but the work isn’t over. Committee leadership affirmed, “We must ensure that the left is never again able to capture institutions for future weaponization, ensuring Americans will not find themselves as collateral damage.”
