Are You an Encourager? The Virginia State Legislature Needs You!

By | Virginia | No Comments

Our state legislators depend on our prayers and support. They have a difficult job and pouring God’s Word and encouragement into their lives, through handwritten notes, is just one way that we can show the love of Christ through the ministry of Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Virginia. Our Encourage-A-Legislator Program (EAL) does just that!

Whether a legislator is a believer, non-believer, conservative, liberal, Democrat, Republican, independent, or other, we need to pray and encourage them. As prayers are offered on behalf of our legislators, and they receive your postcards, hearts are changed and encouraged.

This next legislative session, CWA of Virginia needs you to help us deliver prayers and notes of encouragement.

Answer the call. Sign up today!

Contact our EAL Coordinator, Janet Stasulli, to get involved. Janet has done an outstanding job administrating this program for 11 years! She looks forward to hearing from you! Janet can be reached at [email protected], or (434)525-6705. Provide her with your name and physical mailing address, along with how many legislators you would like to encourage.

We are excited to launch our 2022 Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) program! For those who have not participated in our EAL program in the past, it focuses solely on prayer and encouragement for our state legislators. The EAL program is one of Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Louisiana’s most valued programs. Though CWA members and friends regularly contact their legislators and pray concerning our core issues, the EAL program is designed to pray for and encourage the legislators with no mention of legislation or policy. Regardless of whether legislators are conservative, liberal, Republican, Democrat, Independent, Christian, or non-Christian, they need both our prayer and encouragement.

For more information about the EAL program, and to print flyers, click here.

If you would like to participate, please contact CWA of Louisiana’s EAL Coordinator, J DeRoche, at [email protected] or call 985-722-5056. Provide your name, physical address, phone number, and specify whether you would like to adopt one or two legislators.

Prayer Project Right Here in Hawaii

By | Hawaii | No Comments

“First of all, then, I urge that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made on behalf of all people, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” I Timothy 2:1-2

It is time to recruit encouragers for our Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Hawaii Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) Project for the 2021 Hawaii State legislative session. Many of you have been dedicated encouragers with us over the years. We appreciate your faithfulness.

Now is not the time to grow weary. Isaiah 54:17 promises us that no weapon forged against us will prevail. Prayer opens the keys to Kingdom power and is one of the most powerful weapons God has given us. So, are you ready to pray?!

CWA of Hawaii EAL Project is focused on encouragement and prayer for our state legislators while they are in session. It is a commitment to pray daily for a state legislator(s) and send him/her a postcard every week until the end of the session around the first of May. CWA of Hawaii will provide postcards with pre-printed Scriptures and quotes from our founding fathers, as well as a page of suggested encouraging notes for you to write. Simply express appreciation for the legislator’s service and note your prayers for him or her, add a postcard stamp, and mail the postcards weekly.

Take Action! If you wish to participate in our EAL project, or have questions, please contact me at [email protected]. When signing up simply provide your physical address, phone number, and the number of legislators you would like to adopt. A packet of postcards and instructions will then be sent to you.

Thank you for being a faithful supporter and member of CWA of Hawaii! You may always contact the state office with questions or suggestions. We appreciate you and all you do to keep these United States of America and our state of Hawaii “one nation/state under God!”

Respectfully,

Are You an Encourager of Encouragers?
Impact the State Legislature with Prayer and Encouragement

Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Louisiana is currently seeking a coordinator to oversee our Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) program. The EAL Coordinator prepares the EAL packet of postcards and instructions and mails to the EAL participants. She also communicates with participants throughout the legislative session. The Louisiana 2021 session is scheduled to convene on Monday, April 12, and adjourn on Thursday, June 10.

About the EAL Program
EAL is a program of encouragement and prayer for our Louisiana state legislators while the Louisiana legislature is in session. It involves sending postcards of encouragement and praying for an assigned legislator throughout the session. EAL is designed to pray for and encourage the legislators with no mention of legislation or policy. Whether conservative or liberal, the goal is to uplift the legislator and to remind him or her that they are prayed for regularly.

Are you interested in learning more about the position of EAL Coordinator? I am happy to talk to you and answer any questions you may have. Please contact me by e-mail or phone (504) 236-8546 if you have an interest in more information on joining our CWA of Louisiana team.

CWA of South Carolina Prayer Project Opportunity

By | South Carolina | No Comments

Do you want to make a powerful and effective investment in the state of South Carolina? Consider participating in Concerned Women for America (CWA) of South Carolina‘s first annual Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) Prayer Project. The project is designed to be simple yet effective as we pray for the hearts and minds of our legislators during the five-month 2021 legislative session.

The EAL Prayer Project impacts state legislators. It does this in two ways. First and foremost, it ensures daily prayer for each legislator. Second, through monthly postcards, it encourages and builds bridges with the conservative legislators and those who do not usually agree with CWA. As prayers are offered on behalf of the legislators, and they receive your postcards, hearts are changed and encouraged. The EAL Prayer Project is not used for lobbying purposes.

We are prayerfully seeking enough faithful volunteers so that each of the 170 South Carolina state legislators will be prayed for during the 2021 legislative session (January 12 – end of May). CWA will provide the postcards; all you have to do is provide the stamps and a commitment to pray and encourage.

If you would like to participate, please e-mail CWA of South Carolina’s state office by December 20. Please specify whether you would like to pray for one or more legislators. Please provide the following information: Name, address, phone, and e-mail address. You will receive your postcards and instructions in early January.

I hope you will join us! I cannot think of anything more powerful than to pray for those in authority, those who make public policy decisions that impact our daily lives.

For Truth and Righteousness,

Madison Rainey

Virginia: Encourage A Legislator Prayer Project Opportunity

By | Virginia | No Comments

Wow! What a year this has been. Many bills harmful to families and unborn babies were passed by the Virginia General Assembly and signed into law by Gov. Ralph Northam (Democrat). And on a national level, it has also been a year like we have never experienced in our lifetime – the coronavirus and its lockdowns, lawlessness in our streets, and questions of election integrity.

Now is not the time to grow weary. Isaiah 54:17 promises us that no weapon forged against us will prevail. Prayer opens the keys to Kingdom power and is one of the most powerful weapons God has given us.

So, are you ready to pray?! I am looking for volunteers for Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Virginia’s Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) program for Virginia’s 2021 legislative session, which begins January 13, 2021.

If you are new to CWA, EAL is a program of encouragement and prayer for our Virginia legislators while the General Assembly is in session. It involves sending a postcard every week for six weeks and praying daily for a legislator. Click here to review the EAL brochure, which further explains the program.

We have received several notes of gratitude and appreciation from our legislators over the years. Here are a few:

“Thanks for your many prayers and words of encouragement.”
“Thank you for your cards of support . . . they mean a great deal to me.”

If you would like to participate in the 2021 EAL program, please click here to sign up online, and I will be in contact with you.

This is also a great project for your whole family, students, a Sunday School class, or a Bible study group.

Thank you in advance for your willingness to serve the Lord and your fellow citizens.

Prayer Project Update: CWA of Illinois Committed to Praying for All Legislators

By | Illinois | No Comments
We are pleased to announce that encouragers throughout the state of Illinois have answered the call to be a part of this year’s Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Illinois Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) program! The EAL packets have been mailed, and 285 state legislators, elected officials, and county board/commission chairs will soon be receiving monthly encouragement cards containing a Scripture, notable quote, and a prayer.

Thank you for the outpouring of support for this incredible project where we pray for and encourage our Illinois elected officials. We are also grateful for this year’s partnership with Illinois National Day of Prayer.

Prayer is important not only for the legislators for whom we pray but for our own benefit. Legislators’ decisions impact our lives and the communities in which we live.

Time to take action:
For those who are unable to participate in the EAL program, we still would love to have you join us in praying for our legislators and governor. Here are prayer points you can use:

  • Safety and Good Health
  • Family Unity
  • Wise and Godly Decisions
  • Suppression of Weariness and Pride
  • Godly Counsel and Sensitivity to God’s Leading
  • Salvation
  • Continued Strength in the Lord
“For what great nation has a god as near to them as the Lord our God is near to us whenever we call on him?” – Deuteronomy 4:7

Thank you for your willingness to pray and encourage!

Sign Up Today: 2020 Encourage-A-Legislator Campaign

By | Hawaii | No Comments

“Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.”- I Timothy 2:1-4

Because Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Hawaii believes prayer is crucial to revival and restoration of a nation, we are asking you to participate in our Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) Campaign for the 2020 Hawaii legislative session. We are so excited to see what God is going to do in the hearts and minds of our state legislators as we pray for them each day and encourage them through our weekly postcards.

Hawaii has 76 state legislators (25 senators and 51 representatives). Our elected officials need to know that people like you and me – who understand the power of prayer and what a refreshing word does for the soul – will be praying for them.

Would you commit to adopt one of our state legislators and pray for him or her daily during the sixty-day session (January-April)? In addition to praying for your assigned legislator, you will send him/her a weekly pre-printed postcard that contains a Scripture verse or quote and space for you to write a prayer or personal note of encouragement. The EAL program is never used to lobby and, therefore, is never confrontational. It is simply a great way to lift up those in authority and encourage them in their responsibilities.

CWA of Hawaii has implemented this program for many years with great success.  Legislators have responded with humble appreciation.  Faithful prayer warriors are necessary and needed. Sign up today and we will assign you a legislator and supply you with the postcards and instructions.

Any questions? Contact me at 425-869-1923 or e-mail me at [email protected].

Time to take action: 1.) Fill out this form and send in the form to CWA of Hawaii, 15-682 Puni Mauka Loop S., Pahoa, HI  96778.  Or, e-mail the information requested to [email protected]. 2.) Consider giving by writing a check to “CWA” with “CWA of HI” in the memo line. Or, give online. 3.) Then, encourage others to do the same!

Volunteers Needed for Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) Program

By | Illinois | No Comments
Prayer moves the hand of God in the affairs of this nation!  In fact, we are commanded to pray for those in authority. 1 Timothy 2:1 says, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.  This is good and pleases God our Savior…”

And because Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Illinois believes prayer is crucial to revival and restoration of a nation, we are asking you to participate in our Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) Program for the 2020 Illinois legislative session. We are so excited to see what God is going to do in the hearts and minds of our state legislators and other elected officials as we pray for them each day and encourage them through our weekly postcards.

We are also pleased to announce that Illinois National Day of Prayer (NDP) is partnering with this year’s CWA of Illinois’ EAL program. It is important to have many intercessors praying on behalf of our legislators!  Welcome aboard NDP!

Here are the details:
Volunteers will receive twelve self-addressed postcards per legislator containing a Founding Father quote, Scripture, and encouraging prayer.  Your responsibility will be to PRAY for your assigned legislator, sign the card, and mail it. The EAL program is never used to lobby and, therefore, is never confrontational. It is simply a great way to lift up those in authority and encourage them in their responsibilities.

Time to take action:

  • Prayerfully consider volunteering for this important ministry.  A grateful thank-you goes out to those who have already answered the call!
  • Email me the following information: Name, physical mailing address, e-mail address, and phone number (optional) and the number of legislators for whom you would like to pray. We will mail your EAL packet, complete with instructions, in mid to late February once the 2020 Illinois General Assembly completes their room and committee assignments. CWA of Illinois will assign your EAL legislator.
  • Recruit your friends and family to Encourage-A-Legislator.
Thank you for your willingness to prayer and encourage! I look forward to hearing from you.

Are You an Encourager? Encouragers are Needed!

By | South Dakota | No Comments

“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for everyone –
for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”
  I Timothy 2:1

Dear CWA of South Dakota Friends,

More “encouragers” are needed for our Encourage-A-Legislator Campaign for the 2020 South Dakota legislative session. It is our goal for 2020 that not one legislator be left without both prayer and encouragement. Will you help us meet that goal?

Our legislators will be making important decisions on many issues that affect our state and families. Undoubtedly, much prayer is needed to restrain the enemy’s assault on our culture.

This is our 21st year of Encourage-A-Legislator! We appreciate the faithfulness of those among you who have been “encouragers” since our first year.

Will you commit once again to adopting a legislator and praying for him or her daily during the nine-week session beginning on January 14? If you have not participated as of yet, now is the time! Each week you will send your assigned legislator a CWA-provided postcard pre-printed with a Scripture verse or inspirational quote. Simply express appreciation for the legislator’s service, note your prayers for him or her, then add a postcard stamp and mail the card on a specified date.

Many legislators responded to your encouraging postcards last year with words of appreciation. Your benefit as an “encourager” is that you are energized and blessed to be a part of this effort.

Consider making this a family project in which each member adopts a legislator.

If you wish to participate, please reply by noting your commitment and providing your physical address. Postcards and instructions will be sent to you just prior to the opening of the 2020 South Dakota legislative session.

Help us recruit more “encouragers” by printing this informative flyer and providing it to your church family and friends. And/or forward this e-alert to those you think would be interested.

You are appreciated!

Encourage and Pray – Now more than ever!

By | Virginia | No Comments

Just this week, my Bible study has been in the book Esther. How appropriate.  Esther 4:14 says, “And who knows but that you have come to your royal position for such a time as this?”  We are royalty, and our father is the KING! He has positioned us at this time to do incredible things for His kingdom’s purposes, and I cannot think of anything more powerful and more honoring to our Lord than to pray for our elected officials.

We are calling on all past, present, and new Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) volunteers to gear up for the upcoming 2020 General Assembly session that begins January 8 and volunteer to prayer for a legislator.   You are necessary, and you are needed. Our elected officials need to know that people like you and me – who understand the power of prayer and what a refreshing word does for the soul – will be praying for them.

The goal of the EAL program is to encourage each member of the State House and Senate, by praying for them regularly and sending them a postcard each week throughout the legislative session.  Our goal is to cover all those “in authority” in Virginia – 100 House members and 40 Senate members. The EAL program is never used to lobby and, therefore, is never confrontational. It is simply a great way to lift up those in authority and encourage them in their responsibilities.

Click here for more details about the EAL program.

Sign up today to be an encourager—it couldn’t be easier! Sign up by simply giving Janet Stasulli, CWA of Virginia’s Encourage-A-Legislator Coordinator, a call at (434) 525-6705 or email her at [email protected] and provide her with your name and physical mailing address.  Be sure to specify how many legislators you would like to encourage. She will be happy to enlist you as an encourager and send you a packet of postcards and instructions, which you will receive late December.

The late Reverend Arthur Hopkins said this about prayer, “Our prayer and God’s mercy are like two buckets in a well; while one ascends, the other descends.” So, let’s storm the gates of heaven on behalf of our state leaders. Let’s let our “petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good, and pleases God our Savior …” 1 Timothy 2:1-3.

Please tell me YES – that you are willing to pray for eight weeks for a legislator!  We need all hands on deck.

CWA of South Dakota Recruiting Encouragers

“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.”  I Timothy 2:1

It is time to recruit “encouragers” for our Concerned Women for America (CWA) of South Dakota Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) campaign for the 2020 South Dakota legislative session. This is our 21st year of Encourage-A-Legislator, and many of you have been dedicated encouragers with us from the very beginning. We appreciate your faithfulness.

We live in challenging times. I’m sure you’ll agree with me that much prayer is needed to restrain the enemy’s assault on our culture. Prayer is also needed to help encourage and sustain our state legislators. Here are a few comments we received from legislators regarding EAL:

“Better than gold!”

“It truly is a blessing to learn that our efforts are being covered in prayer!
We all need the grace, wisdom, and discernment that only the Lord can provide.”

Will you commit to adopting a legislator and praying for him or her daily during the three-month session beginning in January? Each week you will send your assigned legislator a CWA-provided postcard pre-printed with a Scripture verse or inspirational quote. Simply express appreciation for the legislator’s service and note your prayers for him or her. Finally, add a postcard stamp and mail the card on a specified date.

Your efforts will encourage and build bridges with the conservative legislators as well as those who do not typically agree with CWA of South Dakota. Your benefit as an “encourager” is that you are energized and blessed to be a part of this effort.

Click here if you wish to participate in our EAL campaign. Be sure to include your name and physical mailing address.  You will receive your postcards and instructions before the opening of the 2020 South Dakota legislative session early in January.

God bless you for your faithfulness in prayer and action.

“Pray without ceasing.” 1 Thessalonians 5:17

Do you want to make a “powerful and effective” investment in the state of Georgia? Consider participating in the annual Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) Prayer Project sponsored by Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Georgia.  The program is designed to be simple, yet effective, as we pray for the hearts and minds of our legislators and their families.

We are very excited to be embarking on our fifteenth year of prayer and encouragement, and we want to invite you to join us! If you are new to CWA, the EAL project consists of sending postcards of encouragement and a commitment to pray for a state legislator(s) during the 2018 Georgia legislative session. The EAL Prayer Project is not used for lobbying purposes.

The EAL Prayer Project impacts state legislators in two ways. First and foremost, it intensifies and ensures consistent prayer for each legislator. Second, it encourages and builds bridges with the conservative legislators, as well as those who do not normally agree with CWA. As prayers are offered on behalf of the legislators, and as they receive your postcards, hearts are changed and encouraged.

CWA is prayerfully seeking faithful volunteers so that each of the 236 legislators will be individually prayed for during the 2018 legislative session, which begins January 8 and continues through March. CWA will provide the postcard. All you have to do is provide the stamps and a commitment to pray and encourage.

If you would like to participate, please e-mail CWA of Georgia’s state office. Specify whether you would like to pray for one or two legislators and provide your name, address, phone number, and e-mail address.

I cannot think of anything more powerful than praying for those in authority, as they are responsible for making policy decisions that impact our daily lives. This is a great project for churches, homeschoolers, women’s groups, and more!  I hope you will join us!

We are looking for your commitment today. Your packet will be mailed to you this January.

Merry Christmas Georgia (and Looking Ahead to 2017!)

merry-christmas-4

A hearty “Merry Christmas!” to you from Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Georgia. I pray this letter finds you enjoying the blessed Christmas season as you celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

As we come to the end of another busy and productive year, we at CWA of Georgia want to pause and pass along some of the accomplishments and blessings of 2016 to our faithful members and supporters. We want you to know how much we appreciate your participation in our work. Your prayers are always appreciated and without them our work would not be fruitful.

Legislation, Policy and Events

  • Lobbied full-time under CWA Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) as volunteers during the Georgia legislative session.
  • Lobbied under CWALAC tirelessly for the passage of a broad-based religious protections bill that was passed by the state legislature, only to be vetoed by the governor.
  • Lobbied under CWALAC against and successfully stopped a state-level casino gambling bill and a public accommodations bill (i.e., “bathroom bill”).
  • Testified under CWALAC before several House and Senate committees.
  • Partnered with several other faith-based organizations and schools to sponsor Georgia’s first Religious Freedom Day at the State Capitol.
  • Spoke at a press conference under CWALAC in response to Gov. Nathan Deal’s veto of the religious freedom bill.
  • Participated in a press conference for Dr. Eric Walsh who was fired from a state job because of his religious beliefs.
  • Lobbied our Georgia Congressional delegation in Washington, D.C. under CWALAC.
  • Attended CWA’s 100 No More Human Rights Prayer Rally in Washington, D.C.
  • Sponsored our 13th Annual Encourage-A-Legislator Prayer Project. Over 70 faithful members prayed for and encouraged our state lawmakers during the Georgia legislative session.
  • Met with the State School Superintendent, the State Board of Education Chairman, local school board members and local school district leadership to educate and voice opposition under CWALAC to the U.S. Department of Education directive on school bathrooms.
  • Actively opposed a private grant taken by the Georgia Department of Education (GaDOE) to develop Social-Emotional Learning standards. I met with the State School Superintendent, State Board of Education members and several state legislators to educate on the dangers of these types of standards.  Because of the pressure put on the GaDOE by CWA of Georgia members, the grant money was returned. This was an enormous victory!

Learn more about our prayer/action chapters

To support us financially, make your check payable to “Concerned Women for America” and send to CWA of Georgia, PO Box 671374, Marietta, GA 30066, or donate online. You will be sowing seeds into good soil!

Please know that what you do makes a difference!  We encourage you to continue standing for righteousness with us so that Biblical values are restored to our nation. Let’s honor God and His Word!

In Christ,

Georgians: Can Prayer Make a Difference? Absolutely!

“The fervent prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.” James 5:16

Do you want to make a “powerful and effective” investment in the state of Georgia? Consider participating in the annual Encourage-A-Legislator Prayer Project (EAL) sponsored by Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Georgia.  The program is designed to be simple yet effective as we pray for the hearts and minds of our legislators and their families.

We are very excited to be embarking on our fourteenth year of prayer and encouragement, and we want to invite you to join us! If you are new to CWA, the EAL project consists of sending postcards of encouragement and a commitment to pray for a state legislator(s) during the 2017 Georgia legislative session. The EAL Prayer Project is not used for lobbying purposes.

The EAL Prayer Project impacts state legislators. It does this in two ways. First and foremost, it intensifies and ensures consistent prayer for each legislator. Second, it encourages and builds bridges with the conservative legislators as well as those who do not normally agree with CWA. As prayers are offered on behalf of the legislators and they receive your postcards, hearts are changed and encouraged.

Our volunteers will pray daily for specific areas of need for their assigned legislators. For example, they will pray for:

  • Wisdom and strength to uphold God’s principles
  • Family unity and peace
  • Suppression of weariness, depression and pride
  • Wise and godly decisions

CWA is prayerfully seeking enough faithful volunteers so that each of the 236 legislators will be individually prayed for during the 2017 legislative session (January 9 – end of March). CWA will provide the postcard; all you have to do is provide the stamp(s) and a commitment to pray and encourage.

If you would like to participate, please e-mail CWA of Georgia’s state office. Please specify whether you would like to pray for one or two legislators. Please provide the following information: Name, Address, Phone, E-mail

I cannot think of anything more powerful than to pray for those in authority, those who make public policy decisions that impact our daily lives. I hope you will join us!

We are looking for your commitment today. Your packet will be mailed to you mid-January, 2017.
