South Dakota Spring 2026 Newsletter Now Available

Recently, our church family sang the old hymn “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing.” The line, “raise my Ebenezer,” had always puzzled me, even though I recall reading it in 1 Samuel. The account goes that, after the defeat of the Philistines, “Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen.” He named it Ebenezer, saying, “Thus far the Lord has helped us.” (1 Samuel 7:12) This stone was to be a remembrance of God’s faithfulness. The defeat of the Philistines was preceded by confession, prayer, and fasting. God is faithful to help us and assist us in all we do for His glory—even in the legislature.

With that in mind, your CWA of South Dakota Spring Newsletter is now online.

January 13 was the opening day of the South Dakota Legislative Session. Legislative Liaison Lisa Gennaro and I represented your interests as volunteer lobbyists at the Capitol in Pierre.

On-the-ground lobbying efforts, combined with grassroots prayer and action, are key to upholding God-ordained family values. Contained in this newsletter are highlights of some of the bills with which the CWA Legislative Action Committee was involved.

If you have questions about the bills or would like to know how your legislators voted, please feel free to call Linda at (605) 380-6914 or email [email protected].
