Shameful Boycott of Israeli Prime Minister while Eight Americans still held Hostage in Gaza

Women’s Group Blasts VP Harris and Congressmen for Giving in to Antisemitic Mob

Washington, D.C. – Today, Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC), the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization, blasted Vice President Kamala Harris and the more than thirty Members of Congress boycotting the speech of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to a joint session of Congress while as many as eight American hostages are still being held hostage by Hamas terrorists. Hundreds of antisemitic protestors are camped out in the Capitol.

“Vice President Harris and these Members of Congress have obviously caved into the radical Jew hating mob in their party when American citizens were murdered, women and children brutally raped and tortured and while eight Americans are still in captivity or possibly dead in Gaza. Their boycott is disgusting and shameful,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President of CWALAC. “Rather than support our greatest ally in the Middle East and their war against Iran, Hamas, and other terrorist groups intent on their destruction, these Members are siding with Israel’s enemies.

“Israel is at war against terrorism, and the United States cannot allow its greatest ally to fail. The audacity of VP Harris and the radical wing of her party to snub Prime Minister Netanyahu during their time of need in this battle against terrorism is a new low.

“Supporting Israel is the best strategy for the United States at every level. We must help our closest ally in the region and give them the tools they need to defeat the terrorists who brutalized and murdered their citizens and to use against Iran, an enemy of the U.S. who has vowed to destroy us.

“Prime Minister Netanyahu needs to know he is not alone and that the U.S. has his back. We appreciate Speaker of the House Mike Johnson’s determination to invite the Prime Minister and show the American people are with the Jewish people, despite what the radicals on The Left convey.

Support for Israel is one of Concerned Women for America’s seven core issues. CWALAC has connected families of the October 7 hostages with Members of Congress and hosted the parents of hostage Omer Neutra at the Republican National Convention. Its Young Women for America (YWA) leaders have been holding prayer vigils for Israel on college campuses and at civic centers around the country to focus attention on the suffering of the Jewish people.
