Legislative Update from the State Capitol

“Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.” - Ephesians 6:13

“Bathroom” Bill and Driver’s License Bill

HB1259 will protect women and girls from the entrance of males in their private spaces. Men and boys use one facility, and women and girls use another facility.  We cannot deny the science that there are two sexes—male and female.

HB1260 will require birth certificates, driver’s licenses, etc., to reflect biological sex.

HB1259 and HB1260 will be voted on in the House on Wednesday, February 19.

ACTION: Contact your two representatives and ask them to support HB1259 and HB1260. If you don’t know who your two representatives are or how to contact them, click here. Or you may phone the House lobby at 605-773-3851 and leave a message for your representatives. Be sure to let them know that you were informed on this issue by Concerned Women for America of South Dakota. (There will be no session on Monday, February 17, for President’s Day.)

Protect our National Sovereignty

HB1152 would prohibit the enforcement and implementation of directives from intergovernmental organizations. Intergovernmental organizations, for example, stem from the United Nations, such as the World Economic Forum, World Health Organization, International Criminal Court, etc. We have seen that the World Health Organization’s goal is to force medical treatments like vaccines, quarantines, and lockdowns during a pandemic, usurping national sovereignty. It is a power grab from free nations. HB1152 would assert our freedom to nullify these directives.

HB1152 will be heard in the House on Tuesday, February 18.

Ten Commandments Bill Fails in the House

On February 10, the Ten Commandments bill, SB51, failed in the House with a vote of 31-37-1.  However, we still have our law which states that the Ten Commandments may be posted in the schools along with other historical documents. This law was passed in 2000 at the request of CWA of South Dakota. You may read the law here.

ACTION: Consider purchasing the documents specified in the law and request that your local school board post them. If you would like more information, feel free to call me at 605 380-6914.

PRAYER: Father, we thank you for the men and women who have stepped up to represent “We the people” in our South Dakota state government. It is a daunting task. Give them wisdom during these last weeks of the legislative session so they can make the best decisions for our state. Give them clear thinking, peace, rest, alertness, and good health. In Jesus’ name. Amen
