Theresa Aiello hosted a Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Maine Prayer/Action Chapter kick-off meeting at the Corliss Street Baptist Church in Bath, Maine. Theresa is the American Baptist Women leader in her area and church.
There were 13 guests and three speakers at the event. Five area churches were represented by those in attendance. A Continental breakfast was provided consisting of juice, coffee, grapes and pastries. When the women entered, they signed in and received an information packet consisting of the CWA field brochure, the CWA marriage brochure, CWA “She Votes” flyer, a Scriptural bookmark, and two cre de mint candies.
State Director, Penny Morrell, spoke first about CWA, and gave a brief history of the organization and talked about what we do. Penny was followed by CWA’s Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) Coordinator, Jan Pinkham, who explained the EAL program, the success we enjoyed last time and the vision for the coming legislature. We sang patriotic hymns, and Penny explained the Protect Marriage Maine (PMM) campaign. Last, but not least, Prayer/Action (PAL) Chapter Coordinator, Theresa Aiello, promoted the Prayer/Action Chapter Leader (PAL) program and shared her vision, goals and objectives moving forward.
Results: The Corliss Street Baptist Church has agreed to allow Theresa Aiello to host a Prayer/Action Chapter meeting the second Saturday of every month and two other ladies have committed to attend.
