WASHINGTON, DC (September 24, 2026) – Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) says parents and children are under attack by progressive gender ideology that has entrenched itself in women’s sports and children’s programming.
“There is a war against us as parents, and our children, from the Trans lobby and from the Far Left who want to indoctrinate them. Not only do progressives claim that nobody cares about ensuring girls and women do not have to compete with or against trans-identifying men in sports, but they also believe parents don’t have a right to know if children’s programs are pushing pro-trans messaging onto their four- and five-year-old children. It’s time for common sense to prevail and children to be protected,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President, Concerned Women for America LAC.
This week, FCC Chairman Brendan Carr responded to House Democrats who do not agree that parents should know in advance whether LGBTQ content is labeled in children’s TV programming, saying, “You stake out the radical position that parents have no right to know whether controversial gender identity ideologies are being promoted in children’s television programming. In your view, parents should not be empowered to make informed choices about the programs their children watch.”
“Parents overwhelmingly want to be informed of sensitive content in children’s TV shows. Our poll data found that 87% of parents want TV content ratings to advise them of violence, sexual content, or other sensitive themes like LGBTQ messaging or characters, in children’s TV programming. Parents should be able to make informed viewing decisions for their children, but currently, parents have no way of knowing whether LGBTQ content is in that program. It’s time to give parents that choice. Progressives would rather parents be in the dark,” said Nance.
Carr’s letter comes on the heels of comments made at yesterday’s Senate Judiciary Committee hearing over fairness in women’s sports by Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL), who said, “If you ask the American people, what are the priority issues you hope Congress will address as soon as possible, the issue of this hearing would not be in the top 10, maybe not the top 20.” Sen. Durbin was only one of two Democrats in attendance at the hearing.
“Note to leftists: over 69% of Americans believe it is ‘very’ or ‘somewhat’ important in deciding who to vote for in this election that candidates oppose forcing female athletes to participate in sports and share locker rooms with biological boys/men identifying as girls/women,” said Nance.
New CWA research found that trans-identifying males have stolen over 2,293 gold medals from women in the United States.
