CWA of Kansas, Culture Shield Network, and Capitol Commission have joined forces to encourage and pray for state legislators
We are excited to announce that we have an Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) program this year! For the first time ever, CWA of Kansas has partnered with Culture Shield Network and Capitol Commission to be able to cover even more legislators with prayer.
The EAL program is one of the most important programs we can provide. When fully implemented, each member of our Kansas state legislature (40 Senators and 125 Representatives) will be lifted up in prayer each day of the remainder of the session and receive an encouraging post card once a month. The EAL program is not an expression of political or public policy views. It is a program for encouragement and prayer for our state legislators. The goal is to simply uplift the legislator and to remind him or her that they are being prayed for regularly.
It’s easy! You commit to adopting a legislator, praying for him/her each day and sending a post card once a month during the remainder of the 2019 legislative session (session ends around the first of May). After praying for your adopted legislator, you will mail the provided postcard that is pre-printed with a meaningful quote and a corresponding Scripture verse. Simply write a few encouraging words on the card or just sign it, affix a postcard stamp and mail the card.
Are you interested? Now more than ever our leaders need our prayers and encouragement. Prayer moves the hand of God in the affairs of this state and nation! I Timothy 2:1-2 commands us to pray for those in authority, “I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness. This is good and pleases God our Savior …”

She can be reached at 785-438-9400 or at dawnpaulson@me.com. Be sure to give her your name, physical mailing address, email, phone number, and how many legislators you would like to adopt. She will then send your postcards, a bio of your legislator, and instructions.
