Israel’s Targeted Strikes on Hamas Leaders Hopeful Sign for an End to the War and Return of Hostages

Washington, D.C. – Concerned Women for America (CWA), the nation’s largest public policy women’s organization, responded to the Israeli strikes on Hamas leader and the death of Hamas military leader Mohammed Deif and political chief Ismail Haniyeh.

“Deif was a mass murderer who had the blood of thousands of innocent men, women and children on his hands,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President of CWA. “His death and that of Hamiyeh is a hopeful sign that Israel is accomplishing its mission to destroy the terrorist radicals who murdered, tortured, brutalized and captured its citizens. We pray this is a hopeful sign that the end of the war is near and that the remaining hostages, including as many as eight Americans, will be returned to their families soon.”

On Tuesday, a senior commander of Hezbollah was also killed after a rocket attack murdered twelve children on a soccer field on Saturday.

“Israel’s success is America’s success. Iran is an enemy of the United States and their terrorist cells Hamas and Hezbollah must be destroyed for peace to be possible,” said Nance. “The Biden Administration needs to make it clear that we support Israel and will do everything in our power to help them in their mission and give them the tools they need to defeat the terrorists.”

Support for Israel is one of Concerned Women for America’s seven core issues. CWALAC has connected families of the October 7 hostages with Members of Congress and hosted the parents of hostage Omer Neutra at the Republican National Conventions. Its Young Women for America (YWA) leaders have been holding prayer vigils for Israel on college campuses and at civic centers around the country to focus attention on the suffering of the Jewish people.
