Are you interested in praying for and encouraging our state legislators while they make huge decisions for us this legislative season?
Encourage-A-Legislator is a program which takes 1 Timothy 2:1&2 to heart, remembering that we are exhorted, “First of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” It is organized through Concerned Women for America of Maine, but don’t worry, guys can (and do) participate, also!
Those who participate are assigned a legislator to encourage and commit to–
- Pray for their legislator by name every single day of the legislative session, and
- Send out a postcard once a month to their legislator with an encouraging message or quote. (We will provide the postcards, instructions, and message ideas for the postcards once you sign up).
It isn’t that time consuming, but it is powerful and effective! Prayer is the most important aspect of everything we do, and our leaders need prayer warriors behind them.
