WASHINGTON, DC – Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee (CWALAC) said that the “Clean Water for All Life Act,” introduced today by Rep. Mary Miller (R-Illinois), will protect women by restoring in-person dispensing requirements and requiring the abortion drug Mifepristone to be dispensed with a medical waste catch kit to ensure that this drug no longer pollutes water.
The abortion drug is responsible for more than two-thirds of abortions in the U.S., and 50 tons of aborted babies’ remains are flushed into the American water system every single year. The water Americans drink could contain abortion drug residues because the chemicals used to starve unborn children can remain active and unfiltered by water treatment systems.
“The chemical abortion drug is catastrophic from beginning to end. First, the drug is designed to starve and kill an unborn human made in the Image of God, leaving the child’s body to be flushed down a toilet or sucked down a shower drain. Second, the chemical abortion drug leaves women broken and traumatized in their own homes. One in 10 women experiences serious adverse side effects after taking the abortion drug for a ‘DIY’ abortion, including sepsis, retained fetal parts, hemorrhaging, and even death. And the remains of the aborted child, along with Mifepristone, are being disposed of through our public water supplies. Women and babies deserve better than the abortion drug, and we, the American people, should not bear the risk of drinking the residues of chemical abortions and fetal remains,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President, Concerned Women for America LAC.
“Congress must pass Rep. Mary Miller’s ‘Clean Water for All Life Act,’ especially because the Food and Drug Administration is ignoring the safety risks of the abortion drug, and the Department of Health and Human Services refuses to reinstate reasonable, in-person dispensing requirements to restore informed consent, medical oversight, ultrasounds, and screening for ectopic pregnancies.
