WASHINGTON, DC – As the U.S. celebrates National School Choice Week, Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee says families should be able to choose the schools that best suit their children’s needs.
“With the public school system having been indoctrinating children with woke gender ideology and antisemitic messages for years and with reports that public schools are failing our children, it is imperative that parents have school choice. A child’s education should not be determined by the zip code he or she lives in or the economic status of the family. Families deserve to choose the school that best fits their children’s needs,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President, Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee.
“All states should opt-into the Education Freedom Tax Credit to give families tax relief for education, and 25 states have already done so. States should also use their Title I funds to support school choice initiatives. Just as the U.S. Department of Education has announced that states can apply for the ‘Returning Education to the States Waiver’ to give states more educational control, we ultimately would like to see reforms to state education laws that increase the opportunities for children to attend the school of their choice.”
