WASHINGTON, DC – As the March for Life is celebrated, Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee said that pro-life issues are winning at the federal level, commending both the Trump Administration for ending research using human fetal tissue, and the U.S. House for passing the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act and the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act.
“Pro-life is pro-woman. The Trump Administration rightfully moved to once again end experimental research on human fetal tissue. The federal government should not be in the business of funding unethical research that promotes the destruction of human life. As we celebrate the March for Life, we are grateful for this bold pro-life decision,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President of Concerned Women for America Legislative Action Committee.
“We are glad that the U.S. House passed the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act. Across the nation, thousands of pregnancy resource centers provide medical, material, and emotional support to women, babies, and families in need. The Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act bars pro-abortion bureaucrats from denying federal TANF funds to these life-affirming pregnancy resource centers.
“Pregnant women and new mothers in higher education deserve the resources, care, and support they need to thrive as both students and mothers. By establishing reliable protocols under Title IX, the Pregnant Students’ Rights Act will empower pregnant and parenting students to choose life, connect with counseling services and pregnancy resource centers, and access academic accommodations,” Nance said. “Now we call on the U.S. Senate to pass both of these pro-life bills.”
