WASHINGTON, DC – Concerned Women for America (CWA) commended the Trump Administration for warning women against using Tylenol (acetaminophen) during their pregnancies because taking it may be linked to an increased risk of autism in their children, and said that women need full transparency when it comes to their health.
“Mothers were told for years that it was safe to take Tylenol (acetaminophen) during their pregnancies, and now mothers of autistic children are waking up to the reality that they have been lied to by the medical establishment and Big Pharma. We need more answers, more transparency, and ultimately the full truth. Why have we gone so many years without knowing the impact of acetaminophen on pregnant women and their children? As a mother myself, I know how we agonize over doing the right thing for our children. This announcement leaves us moms to question everything and wonder what else our doctors tell us in the interest of Big Pharma rather than the health of our babies,” said Penny Nance, CEO and President, Concerned Women for America.
“As President Trump pointed out, mothers bear the brunt of the work associated with caring for their children with autism. We stand by the two brave mothers who shared their experiences raising autistic children during the press conference, and we stand with every mother who is working to diligently raise neurodiverse children. We are grateful to the Trump Administration for tackling this issue despite how hard it can be to hear these revelations.
“Ultimately, this is a wakeup call for our nation when it comes to health. We mothers are tired of being lied to and gaslit for wanting to know the truth. We need to continue to find real solutions and receive transparency when it comes to the health of women and children,” said Nance.
