WASHINGTON, DC – With October 7, 2025, marking the second anniversary of the Hamas attack on Israel, Concerned Women for America (CWA) is praying for peace in Israel and for all hostages to be returned. Today, 48 hostages remain in Gaza, but only 20 are believed to be alive.
CWA CEO and President Penny Nance remarked, “Since October 7th, Israel has defended itself against Hamas’ terror, fighting relentlessly in the Gaza Strip to suppress Hamas and save the hostages. Last week, Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu accepted President Trump’s 20-point plan to end the war in Gaza. I believe this plan presents a solution, and I am unceasing in my prayers for the safe return of the remaining hostages to their homes and families.
“I will never forget October 7th, and on this day of remembrance, I am grieving with the Jewish people. But, as the scriptures teach in 1Thessalonians 4:13, I ‘do not grieve as those who have no hope.’ I have hope that God will watch over His people. I will continue to pray that the hostages return safely home in accordance with the President’s peace plan.
“I am wearing black today in solidarity with my friends Orna and Ronen Neutra, whose son, Omer Neutra, was killed on October 7th and taken hostage. They expectantly await the return of their beautiful son. It is inexcusable that he was taken from them after only 21 years. Upon Omer’s return, please pray for their peace and that they can begin to put the pieces of their lives together.
“Here in the United States, a shocking strain of antisemitism has reared its ugly head in the wake of the October 7th attack and Israel’s defensive war. While I am pleased that one of the most loyal friends to Israel in this time of great need have been evangelical, Bible believing Christians, I am saddened to see hatred of the Jews rising in our nation on the right, on the left, and even in our Churches.
“From October 8, 2023, the 500,000 members of Concerned Women for America and our Young Women for America Collegiate Chapters have been standing with no equivocation in support of Israel. Our beautiful, polite, well-dressed young women are the worst nightmare for keffiyeh-wearing thugs on college campuses. Our entire network of CWA has marched, prayed, rallied all over the nation: in cities, on campuses, in churches, and on Capitol Hill. We placed Israeli flags in front of our houses and businesses and shrugged when antisemites threatened us.
“We are working continuously to help the Christian Church grow in a biblical love of Israel and the Jewish people and stand united against radical antisemitism on the Left, taking special care to train our Young Women America leaders. Today, we pledge to continue to stand so that there may never be another day in which we wait for hostages to come home. May there never be another day when evil is visited upon Israel,” said Nance.
