Action Alert: Oppose the Dangerous End of Life Bill

By February 26, 2024Colorado

“Men may spurn our appeals, reject our message, oppose our arguments, despise our persons, but they are helpless against our prayers.”  – J. Sidlow Baxter

Please pray for upcoming legislation as Concerned Women for America (CWA) of Colorado members and friends will be represented through testimony on Thursday, February 29, 2024, opposing SB24-068, the Medical Aid-in-Dying bill.

SB24-068 is a dangerous bill that determines end of life options for individuals with terminal illnesses. In 2016, Coloradans voted to pass Proposition 106, which was designed to allow physicians, nurses, and pharmacists to refuse to offer medical aid in dying and allow health systems to refuse to perform medical aid in dying on their properties. SB24-068 goes way beyond Proposition 106 in a number of ways, such as waiving mandatory waiting period from 15 days to 48 hours, removing the requirement for individuals to be a resident of the state, and prohibiting insurers from denying life insurance benefits.

CWA of Colorado didn’t support Proposition 106, and we do not support this current bill. The sanctity of life includes respect for life at the end of life as well as at the beginning of life.

Take action by contacting the Committee members listed below my signature and urge them to OPPOSE SB24-068.

Please pray: Father, we come to You, the Author of life, asking that Your Holy Spirit moves on the hearts and minds of legislators on this Committee to respect human life at end of life. You alone determine life and death. “In His hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of all mankind.” Job 12:10. We pray for a culture of life, not a culture of death, over Colorado. Thank You, In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Thank you for your prayer and action.
