A Call to Prayer: Building a Movement in Michigan

“If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.” – 2 Chronicles 7:14

Three of us from Michigan had the privilege of attending the Concerned Women for America (CWA) Summit in Washington, D.C., from September 10 to 13. For many of us, the shocking news of the assassination of Charlie Kirk took place while we were traveling to Washington, D.C. I already knew CWA was, first and foremost, a ministry of prayer, but being at the Summit and witnessing our leaders’ responses reaffirmed it in a powerful way. I cannot say enough about this organization – it is all for His Glory – everything they/we do. We were there for a purpose, but they adjusted instantly – with prayer and worship that reflected what happened and what is happening in our great country.

CWA is made up of ordinary women, just like you and me. We come from diverse backgrounds, including various races, experiences, and ages. We are mothers, wives, daughters, and sisters. What makes us extraordinary is our love for God and our commitment to do everything for His glory. We worship the Lord Jesus Christ and boldly stand for Biblical truth, interceding for our leaders and our country.

One of the most encouraging aspects of the Summit was the number of young women in attendance. This is truly a multi-generational movement, with women in their teens all the way into their 90s worshiping and standing together.  To see such unity of purpose across the generations was inspiring and gave me great hope.

I urge you to continue praying for our legislators, our great state, and our nation. Also, pray for a revival.  Our only hope is in Christ and that God would sweep across this great nation with renewal and healing.

CWA is comprised of small groups of praying women across our great nation called Prayer/Action Chapters. Many of the groups consist of just two or three faithful women and others have eight, 15, and more. Here in Michigan, there are two chapters: one in the Thumb area and one in northwest Oakland County.

As the newly appointed CWA State Director for Michigan, I’m excited to see how God will move in our state. I invite you to join one of our existing chapters, if applicable, or, prayerfully consider inquiring about what it might be like to start one in your community.

Please do not hesitate to contact me.

Together, our prayers will make a difference here in Michigan and across the United States of America!
