October 10 – Louisiana XX Day
Celebrating Women & Protecting Their Spaces
Faith – Family – Freedom
“So God created mankind in His own image … male and female He created them” (Genesis 1:27).
In 2023, former NCAA swimmer Riley Gaines started the national observance of Real Women’s Day. That same year, the U.S. House of Representatives introduced H. Resolution 769, supporting the designation of October 10 as “Real Women’s Day.” Even though it is not an official U.S. federal holiday, we still celebrate!
Why October 10? The date 10/10 represents XX, the chromosome pattern typically associated with biological females.
October 10 gives us an opportunity to celebrate women and girls and recognize the importance of protecting their rights, dignity, safety, and opportunities.
It is also a time to celebrate the women and girls who have shaped our families, communities, workplaces, schools, and society. It is also a way to honor the women who came before us and encourage the girls growing into the women God created them to be.
Womanhood is not a social invention, nor does it change as cultural opinions change. Male and female are part of God’s good design.
Let us celebrate womanhood with grace, gratitude, and pride. Let us honor God’s design, cherish women and girls, teach our daughters their God-given worth, and stand for truth while extending the love of Christ to everyone.
