Gov. Ron DeSantis Notes Improving Academic Scores in the 2024-25 School Year
Due to Florida’s first-in-the-nation Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST) progress monitoring assessments and (EOC) End-of-Course and Science assessments improvements are being seen in K-12 school academic performance across all schools. The system shows 71% of all graded schools (2,461 schools) have earned either an “A” or “B” compared with 64% (2,215) the previous school year; whereas 44% have successfully achieved a grade of “A.” In addition, Florida Charter schools are thriving as 77% of these schools are earning grades of “A” or “B.”
Continued statewide progress monitoring provides hope for a bright Florida academic future
“Florida’s use of statewide progress monitoring is yet another example of how Florida leads on education,” said Gov. Ron DeSantis. “Providing more opportunities for parents and teachers to intervene in a child’s performance in school leads to better outcomes and a higher quality education.”
