YWA Spotlight – October 2024

By October 17, 2024YWA

As the election approaches, our work is more important than ever. Across the country, our Young Women for America (YWA) chapters are actively hosting Voter Registration Drives, organizing Election Prayer Vigils, and engaging in meaningful conversations about the importance of voting for our values. It’s truly inspiring to see so many young women stepping up as leaders in their spheres of influence. They have also produced and distributed election resources to inform and spark conversation amongst their peers.

We know that leadership comes with challenges. Many of these remarkable young women have faced pushback and negativity for standing firm in their beliefs. But we stand behind them providing unwavering support and guidance every step of the way.

Spotlight: Election Prayer Vigil at the College of the Ozarks

With everyone in their chapter registered and prepared to vote, YWA at College of the Ozarks is hosting an Election Prayer Vigil open to both chapter members and the public. Leaders and chapter members are inviting everyone in their communities to join them in prayer for our nation’s future.

Chapter Leadership Team member, Elizabeth Moeller, beautifully encapsulates the heart behind this event, stating, “In the midst of political uncertainty, it is important to remember that Christ is King. This means that we can come to Him with our petitions and ask that His will be done on earth. It also means that no matter who is in the White House, we know who is on the Throne. We pray that by gathering together for this vigil as a body of believers, we can ask for God’s intercession and give glory to Him.”

Additionally, we’re thrilled to share that a dedicated high schooler in Missouri is in the process of starting a new chapter at the School of the Ozarks. Together, these young women are making a significant impact, and their commitment is a beacon of hope for our future. CWA looks forward to pouring into these amazing young leaders.

Project Identity: God’s Design for Sexuality in Policy and Culture

As you well know, our ability to move the needle on policy issues is dependent on our network of strong and informed leaders. To that end, this Friday, our Young Women for America team is hosting an intensive seminar for 26 YWA Ambassadors and Chapter Presidents to deep dive into this critical issue. Attendees will hear from our CEO and President, Penny Nance, along with CWA policy experts Doreen Denny, Maggie McNeely, and Macy Petty, as well as expert guest speakers!

 Guest Speakers include –

  • Vanessa Sivadge, Nurse Practitioner who was fired by Texas Children’s Hospital for blowing the whistle on illegal gender surgeries
  • Johannes Widmalm-Delphonse, Attorney at Alliance Defending Freedom
  • Kathy Grace Duncan, Ministry Leader and Spokesperson at  CHANGED Movement, who was radically saved by God after attempting to live as a male named Keith.
  • Dr. Quinten Van Meter, former President of the American College of Pediatricians

There will be a mock testifying simulation to equip them for potential committee hearings and a personal conversation simulation to practice sharing truth in small, intimate settings.

Each of these talented young women applied, was chosen to participate, and committed to action items they’ll complete in the months following the seminar. We are looking forward to the fruit produced by this event!

Thanks to your support and prayers we are able to support and uplift these amazing YWA members to stand for Truth in their areas of influence. Whether they are on their campuses or at our headquarters in Virginia, these girls are growing and making a tangible impact on their nation. Let’s continue to encourage and uplift them as they lead with courage and conviction.
