“I pledge allegiance to the flag … “
As the nation celebrated Flag Day on June 14, for most Americans that allegiance is to the flag of the United States of America: the land of the free and the home of the brave. But for President Joe Biden and his friends on the left, they have pledged allegiance not to the symbol of our nation, but to an ideology that demands complete fealty.
At the White House recently, the LGBTQ flag took center stage, flowing large and wide in the middle of the display for its “Pride” month celebration with American flags hanging on each side. The symbolism could not be more fitting. On the South lawn were people dressed in rainbow colors and costumes. A man, who identifies as a woman, including the chest enhancements to prove it, pranced about and decided to show off those enhancements to the world by going topless. The social media influencer claimed he was embracing the “free the nipple” movement. He was flanked by two topless women, identifying as men, one showing the scars of her mastectomy. Scars from transition surgery. It’s hard to imagine anything more disrespectful to the office of the president or appalling for the nation, especially considering there were many children at the gathering.
President Biden said the gathering was attended by the “bravest and most inspiring people I’ve ever known.” Really? Not the men and women who wear our nation’s uniform of our conutry’s armed forces? The White House finally, after days passed, condemned the topless man but the obsession of this administration and its supporters (i.e. the Democratic Party) with the bizarre gender cult was on full display for the world to see. Traditionally “Pride” celebrations around the country have not been child friendly events showcasing everything from benign gay men’s choirs, to men in S and M leather thongs flanked by drag queens mocking women. Pride advocates have had a good run for more than 20 years.
President Bill Clinton, in 1999, declared June to be “Gay & Lesbian Pride Month.” In 2009 President Barack Obama added the “B & T” and in 2021 Biden added the “Q” (queer) and this year added the “I” (intersex). I doubt Arkansas-born William Jefferson Clinton could have imagined how “queer” this movement would become claiming 64 genders including something called two-spirit. Today, companies are compelled by the ESG (environmental, social, and governance) overlords to place rainbows in their corporate symbols, they light up their buildings in rainbow colors; they spend millions on ad campaigns to promote this agenda. Then there is the myriad of rainbow flags, flown on churches, on civic buildings, on our military bases and embassies globally.
The White House hung the biggest rainbow flag in the center of the display for the pride event in violation of the U.S. flag code that says, “No other flag or pennant should be placed above or, if on the same level, to the right of the flag of the United States of America.” The truth is that most Americans are left scratching their heads trying to keep up and musing that pride used to be considered a sin and the rainbow was a symbol of God’s blessing and the covenant he made with man after the flood of Noah’s ark days? People of Faith (Christians, Orthodox Jews, and Muslims) are told that we must not just approve, but we are forced to participate through our consumer dollars and even our employers. We are considered intolerant and bigoted if we don’t want this ribald sexual deviance in our face or our children exposed to sexual content.
The more radical the left gets the more the American people find their voice and draw the line particularly now that they are coming for our kids. In fact, in recent polling data published by Rasmussen Reports, Americans, by a three to one margin, believe there are only two genders, and a majority support laws against transgender treatments for minors. The national survey also found that 71% of American adults agree with the statement that “there are two genders, male and female,” including 57% who strongly agree. Only 26% of those surveyed believed that gender ideology should be taught in schools. The whole of the American people should be at the center of the president’s concerns. But for him and so many on the left the 7.2% of Americans who claim to be lesbian, gay bisexual, transgender or queer are their priority and drive much of their policy increasingly disenfranchising most of the nation.
The nation just celebrated Flag Day, and will soon the Fourth of July; proudly flying the Stars and Stripes around the country. Let’s again pledge our allegiance to what is true and good, thank our military heroes, and stand up for our families and religious freedom.
