Do you want to make a powerful and effective investment in the state of North Carolina? We invite you to participate in Concerned Women for America (CWA) of North Carolina’s 18th year of the Encourage-A-Legislator (EAL) Prayer Project.
The EAL Prayer Project impacts our elected officials. It does this in two ways. First and foremost, it ensures daily prayer for each official. Second, through monthly postcards, it encourages and builds bridges with the conservative legislators and those who do not usually agree with CWA. As prayers are offered on behalf of the legislators, and they receive your postcards, hearts are changed and encouraged. The EAL Prayer Project is not used for lobbying purposes.
This year, the EAL project runs from April to July. Volunteers will be mailed detailed instructions along with four postcards for your assigned elected official(s), one for each month. Your responsibility will be to pray for your assigned official, write a brief encouraging note (suggestions are listed in our instructions), sign the card, and mail it. With what we have experienced this past year, prayer has never been more essential for revival and restoration for all citizens, especially those in public office.
We have received several enthusiastic responses from both officials and volunteers over the years:
- From a judge: “I received your notes. Thank you for praying for me and for encouraging me with the scripture references. I really appreciate it. It convicts me that I need to pray for those in government more faithfully. Thank you for your witness.”
- From EAL volunteers, mother and daughter: “We are willing to pray for every man or woman mentioned and sign and send postcards to them. Thank you for the opportunity to be a part of an important project for our country.”
Please sign up today by emailing me at director@northcarolina.cwfa.org. Include your name, physical address, phone number (optional), and the number of officials you would like to pray for and send notes of encouragement. We will mail your packet, complete with your official names, instructions, and postcards, by the end of March.
Will you commit to joining us in prayer and encouragement this Spring? Please share with your family, friends, church members, homeschool friends, etc. This is a great project for the whole family.
I look forward to hearing from you. If you have any questions, please contact me.
“I urge, then first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession, and thanksgiving be made for all people for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2
