L.D. 1025 is a very dangerous bill that mandates the encouragement of the homosexual lifestyle. The proposed legislation is an assault on a patient’s right to obtain the professional help they are seeking for unwanted attractions. The state would be inappropriately intruding in private counseling situations – counseling that has helped thousands achieve the goals the patient is seeking. Denying this therapy, which has had well-documented success, is not the role of government.
It is an assault on parental rights, children’s rights, and the rights of professionals to do their job without the fear of losing their license.
You can find the text of the bill, committee information, sponsors and keep updated on the status here.
Lawmakers take notice when you are willing to take time off from work and come to Augusta to take a stand on a bill. If they hear from just four people, they take notice and study the issue. That is why we are asking you again to come to Augusta, if possible, on Wednesday, April 10.
Action Item:
- We need as many of you to come to the hearing in Augusta this Wednesday, April 10. The hearing will be in the Cross Office Building, at 10:00 a.m. in room 220 before the Health Coverage, Insurance and Financial Service Committee in the Cross Office Building.
- We need all of you to contact your legislators and politely ask them to oppose L.D. 1025. To find your lawmakers by the town you live in, click Representative and Senator. Be sure to let them know you are a member of Concerned Women for America of Maine.
- Please send this alert to family and friends.
It’s unbelievable the legislation that has been introduced this year in Maine’s legislature: mandated vaccines, RU486 in vending machines, physician-assisted suicide (again), an Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) that is a back door to taxpayer-funded abortion, mandating insurance companies to provide abortion coverage in their health insurance plans, banning conversion therapy for sex-confused youth, and on and on it goes. We need you to stand with us against this prevailing evil. When you do, lawmakers take notice. Together, in prayer and action, we can have an impact on our culture in Maine.
Please Pray: Dear Father, please move on the hearts of Your people to come to Augusta on Wednesday. Help them understand that our rights are under assault and how important it is for them to show up, to stand up and to speak up. To You be all the glory, honor, and praise. In Jesus’ Name. Amen
