CWA Responds to D.C. ObamaCare Exchange Awarding $375k Grant to Planned Parenthood

Nance: “As the Obama Administration begins to implement ObamaCare, it is obvious that they will go to any expense, including callously trampling Americans’ religious liberties, to force Americans to support his scandal-filled friends at Planned Parenthood.”

Washington, D.C. – Concerned Women for America (CWA) CEO and President Penny Nance has issued the following statement in response to news that Washington, D.C.’s, health insurance exchange has awarded a $375,000 grant to abortion provider Planned Parenthood to help enroll participants in ObamaCare:

“It is simply irresponsible for the Obama Administration to continue to fund an organization plagued with so many scandals. Apparently, President Obama is willing to ignore the dark cloud hanging over this organization, because they are one of his biggest supporters. Just recently, Planned Parenthood was forced to pay $4.3 million to settle a case in the state of Texas, where it was accused of numerous fraudulent practices. And let’s not forget the current investigation by the Governmental Accountability Office. This is an organization that the American people cannot trust.

“That doesn’t even take into account the reasonable objection to the fact that the majority of Americans do not want their money to fund the biggest abortion provider in the country.Government grants and funding to Planned Parenthood in 2009-2010 totaled $487.4 million – and Planned Parenthood, in turn, donated $12 million to reelect President Obama.

“As the Obama Administration begins to implement ObamaCare, it is obvious that they will go to any expense, including callously trampling Americans’ religious liberties, to force Americans to support his scandal-burdened friends at Planned Parenthood.”
