CWA of Iowa was honored to be included in a ceremony to witness Governor Branstad’s signing of a proclamation to define April as Abortion Recovery Month in Iowa. Our thanks to Steve Brody of Dubuque County Right to Life who made the formal request to the Governor’s office. We count it a privilege to work with the great pro-life organizations in Iowa and to lift up those who minister to post-abortive women. Many women suffer silently from the pain of earlier decisions to abort a baby, but when we come to Christ there is no condemnation, only mercy and compassion. He waits to forgive and comfort those who will ask. CWA of Iowa is pleased to see a growing number of options for post-abortive women seeking help in Iowa. We commend the Governor for recognizing this need in the health and welfare of Iowa’s women. I was especially pleased CWA member Margaretha Makeeff could participate in the ceremony. It is on the shoulders of these early pro-life activists that the pro-life movement stands today and continues to grow. Only because of their bravery can we now claim a majority of young Americans as pro-life who will vow to respect and will protect life.
