There are important elections on the horizon. Many think that these elections will make or break our Republic. I would espouse the idea that our country has been brought to this precipice by not heeding the words of our Founding Fathers.
“Liberty cannot be preserved without a general knowledge among the people, who have a right, from the frame of their nature, to knowledge, as their great Creator, who does nothing in vain, has given them understandings, and a desire to know; but besides this, they have a right, an indisputable, unalienable, indefeasible, divine right to that most dreaded and envied kind of knowledge; I mean, of the characters and conduct of their rulers.” This is a quote from Dissertation on Canon and Feudal Law, 1765 by John Adams.
He admonished us to know to seek out the character and conduct of our elected officials. If you are against abortion, why vote for a person who has always voted against all pro-life bills; if you are pro-business pro-jobs why vote for a person who has socialist ties. Judge your candidate by their prior actions and associations and the crowd they run with; they won’t change when they get into office. Use your values as a measuring stick and vote for the candidate that best fits you as an American and your vision of America.
John Jay was the first Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and he advocated the following:
” Providence has given our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the duty, as well as privilege and interest, of a Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.”
Why would Chief Justice Jay say such a thing? Why leave out certain groups of people from serving in our government? Why would he dare discriminate? Did we start off as a “Christian nation?” James Madison answers those questions quite succinctly, “We have staked the whole future of American civilization, not upon the power of government . . . but upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God.”
Wow, no wonder our country is in such a mess. We no longer even post the Ten Commandments, much less obey them. Our children don’t even know what they are. If everyone lived according to Madison ‘s admonition, we wouldn’t need all those worthless laws and regulations; everyone would be doing what was right instead of what was right in their own eyes.
Patrick Henry said, “This great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians.”
This is where we have gone wrong; we have elected the wrong people to office. Do you want to take back America and make it the great nation it once was? Your vote matters on November 2 weigh it very carefully. Are you going to heed our Founding Fathers who were there when our beloved nation was formed and knew the truth?
Ronald Reagan said, “If we ever forget that we are One Nation Under God, then we will be a nation gone under.”
The following is a quote from Czech Republic newspaper:
“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the Presidency. It will be far easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails America . Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The Republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.”
They get it; do you? Remember elections have consequences. Our future is up to you!
