Dear Friends,
What a year! Hope is in the air as we look back at all we have accomplished this year and consider the possibilities ahead. We want to say a big THANK YOU for your friendship and support.
We praise God for each and every one of you!
The Christmas season, with its focus on the birth of Jesus Christ, is at the center of this hope. The Savior was born, died for our sins, rose from the grave, and reigns on high!
The words of 1 Peter 1:3 come to mind, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”
It is that hope that keeps us energized, even in the midst of what others think is impossible. That is how we approached this election year, and we saw God move in miraculous ways.
But we couldn’t engage the way that we do without your help. YOU have gifted us with your time, talent, and/or treasure, and we are beyond grateful.
Let me list just a few of the things we were able to accomplish this year, thanks to you!
- Proposed the Life.gov bill, which Rep. Berny Jacques (R-District 59) and Sen. Erin Grall (R-District 29) sponsored, and Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law. This bill establishes an online resource website that provides information and resources on parenting, where to obtain prenatal and postnatal services, and adoption agencies.
- Opposed the pro-abortion ballot initiative Amendment 4, which would have allowed abortion through all nine months of pregnancy. We sent out multiple e-alerts, participated in coalition involvement, held weekly prayer meetings, and more.
- Opposed ballot initiative Amendment 3, which would have legalized marijuana for recreational use. We sent out multiple e-alerts, held weekly prayer meetings, and more.
- Held a Prayer Walk at the State Capitol at the beginning of the legislative session. CWA leaders, members, and friends attended. We prayed with several legislators and the House Chaplain, encouraging them in their service to their state and commitment to Christ.
- Conducted an Encourage-a-Legislator program in which several legislators were prayed for daily and received an encouraging postcard every week throughout the eight-week legislative session. A special thanks to Karen Dorfman, Fort Myers Prayer/Action Chapter Leader, for coordinating the program.
- Facilitated a smooth transfer of leadership in November from Ruth Smith to myself into the role of State Director. Ruth has done a wonderful job of leading the state over the last couple of years, and I’m grateful she continues to serve within the organization.
2025, Here We Come!
We are believing in a God-sized vision for CWA of Florida’s engagement for next year. Now is not the time to let up. We need to commit to prayer and action now more than ever. We have a great opportunity to exert generational transformation in the name of our Lord in the next year that will benefit our children and grandchildren. So, we will need your help! Please pray about what you can do and make yourself available to the Lord.
Please prayerfully consider making a final year-end, tax-deductible gift of $100, $50, $25, or other to continue the work here in Florida. It will make a huge difference for our state! Send a check to the address below or contribute online.
And remember, let’s keep our eyes on that Blessed Hope; we will stand triumphant in His glory alone.
In His Service,
