Senator Kirk Needs to Hear from You Today!

Print Friendly

Sen. Mark Kirk needs to hear from you right now. Cowering before the pressure from “gay” rights activists, Sen. Kirk said he canceled a room he was providing for a pro-family event where CWA was speaking, excusing his last-minute move to reporters by claiming that he “doesn’t affiliate with groups that discriminate.”

Talk about irony! Who is discriminating against whom? It is “gay” rights activists, including Sen. Kirk, who are discriminating against Christians who hold a historical and Biblical view of marriage and sexuality.

He must hear from you today!

If we remain silent, this sort of discrimination against Christians will only increase.

All Sen. Kirk was doing was providing a room for his constituents. We are not asking him to change his views on marriage or the family, we all know he stand with the pro-homosexual, bisexual and transgender lobby. But what he shouldn’t do is discriminate against his constituents who have a deeply held religious beliefs about marriage and sexuality.

CWA does not discriminate against anyone! We hold a traditional, Biblical view of marriage and sexuality and Sen. Kirk should respect our faith and our views, even if he doesn’t agree with them – just as we respect his views and do not prevent him from speaking out in support of them.

Please take a moment and call today to express your disappointment with the Senator’s intolerance of our religious beliefs.

Call the Chicago office at (312) 886-3506;

The Springfield office at (217) 492-5089;

And the Washington, D.C. office at (202) 224-2854

Call all three! Please make those calls today!

Here is more background. After agreeing to provide a room for a Family in America Capitol Hill Symposium, where Dr. Janice Crouse, Executive Director and Senior Fellow of CWA’s Beverly LaHaye Institute was speaking, Sen. Kirk started receiving calls from “gay” rights activists denouncing his decision to allow the discussion to happen. Sen. Kirk finally caved to the pressure to silence the debate, and his handlers gave this explanation to reporters: “Sen. Kirk doesn’t affiliate with groups that discriminate.”

That’s the real danger here. Sen. Kirk’s religious discrimination. Not ours. We are not calling on senators who support family values to cancel events sponsored by “gay” rights activists. We welcome the debate. In fact, we work with many senators who don’t agree with us on specific issues on a variety of other issues. We are all Americans. But we must call out Sen. Kirk on his discrimination against people of faith.

Please call and hold him accountable for his attempt to silence Christians.

We don’t need to be disrespectful or even angry when we call. We just need to let his office know that he represents people from all walks of life, including many Christians with a traditional view of sexuality, who deserve to be treated with respect.

Call him and tell him to stop discriminating against Christians.

Again, call the Chicago office at (312) 886-3506;

The Springfield office at (217) 492-5089;

And the Washington, D.C. office at (202) 224-2854

Please, call all three today!

And don’t forget to get your family and friends to call. We need to send a message about real tolerance here.

We are praying for you!
