Mothers’ Day at the United Nations

Last week 6,000 women from around the world attended the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women in New York City. Typically a bastion for radical, liberal policies that denigrate motherhood and families, commission delegates were surprised this year by the panel titled “Recognizing the Critical Role of Mothers in Society.” As Dr. Janice Crouse, Senior Fellow and Director of the Beverly LaHaye Institute, notes that the event, sponsored by Iran, Nigeria, Saint Lucia, Syria, and Qatar, and the pro-family group Family Watch, received an overwhelmingly positive response to the theme of “Celebrate Motherhood.”
