UNDER THE DOME National Legislation
CWA at the 2007 "March for Life"

At a related event, Wendy Wright, President of CWA, received
the “Pro-life Recognition Award” which is given to pro-life
individuals who have demonstrated inspiring leadership for the
cause of life. A video of that presentation is also available at
that Web page.
Check it out. You will be blessed!
Grassroots Lobbying (S. 1)
Sen. Robert Bennett’s (R-Utah) Amendment 20 which would take out the
section dealing with grassroots lobbying was passed by the
Senate; the amended bill was then passed in the Senate and
sent to the House of Representatives.
CWA will be monitoring the progress, and if the grassroots
lobbying restrictions are put back into the bill, CWA will
mobilize again so that our constitutional rights are
protected.
Embryonic Stem Cell Research Funding (H.R. 3)
After the House of Representatives passed this bill it was sent to
the Senate. If the Senate also passes it, the President has
promised to veto it as he did last year when it was passed. We
will continue to monitor the progress in the Senate and let you
know when it will be considered.
“Hate Crimes” (H.R. 254)
Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee (D-Texas) introduced the David Ray
Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2007, (H.R. 254), which is now
awaiting a hearing in the House Judiciary Committee.
CWA is following this legislation very closely. Expect a similar
bill to be introduced in the Senate.
