CWA of North Carolina: 18th Annual Day at the Capital
June 6, 2018 @ 9:00 am - 3:00 pm
As you may know, the North Carolina General Assembly opened for Short Session just last week. CWA of North Carolina plans to have an impact on key issues this session. Will you join us?
On Wednesday, June 6, less than two weeks away, we will be gathering together at our North Carolina Legislative Building in Raleigh for our 18th Annual Day at the Capital! That’s right! For 18 years we have met together to be informed, pray, fellowship, and lobby our legislators on one or more bills. We have had both victories and defeats. Just last year, two out of three bills passed that we promoted: HB527, Restore/Preserve Campus Free Speech, and SB548, Strengthen Human Trafficking Laws/Studies. Win or lose, as believers, we are being obedient to the Lord’s Great Commission and doing our part in the process by shining the light of truth.
Like last year, we look forward to partnering with North Carolina Values Coalition in this event. Their partnership with us has been invaluable and welcomed with open arms!
Make plans now to join us in Raleigh on June 6! We have learned that we have more influence among our legislators when many of us are speaking up in a united voice for our Biblical values.
Location: North Carolina General Assembly at 16 West Jones Street, Raleigh, NC 27601.
Agenda: We will begin at 9:00 a.m. and conclude around 3:00 p.m. The day will be filled with an array of activities. You will enjoy wonderful fellowship with like-minded people, learning about one or more pieces of legislation (to be announced next week), visits with your legislators (or staff member) about key issues (talking points will be provided), observing the general assembly in action, attend a CWA led chapel service with legislators, lunch on your own in the legislative cafeteria, and more.
Make plans now to attend this free event!

- Invite a friend to join us! Women, men, teens and children are all welcome. This is a great civics opportunity for the whole family.
Next week, when we inform you of the topic/topics we will be addressing, we will ask you to make an appointment with both your state senator and representative. If you have never visited with your legislators’ offices before, no problem; it’s not nearly as intimidating as it may seem. We provide guidance and talking points during the briefing. Actually, if you prefer being paired up with a seasoned lobbyist, I will be happy to provide that for you. Regardless, it’s best to go with two or more people.
We consider it an honor and a privilege to gather with our CWA friends in our state capital for this event. We hope you will join us! Let’s make a difference in Raleigh together with our prayers and our voices!!!
For Truth and Righteousness,
CWA of North Carolina
