Capitol Hill Brief — Police & Fire Protection

By | Blog, Capitol Hill Brief | No Comments

I recently told you about a rally we had at the Supreme Court for an important religious liberty case, Trinity Lutheran v. Comer.  This was the case where the government discriminated against a school just based on their religion.

We stood for religious freedom on the steps outside the court, but inside the court, the sound of freedom also was heard.  Here is Justice Elena Kagan getting to the crux of the matter when the state insisted it cannot give money to churches in any way:

[Audio Clip] Justice Elena Kagan: You said no money to churches. Why can the state provide police protection or fire protection?

[Audio Clip] Attorney: Well…the state does.

Of course it does. Religious freedom demands it.

Capitol Hill Brief — Israel and the Promised Land

By | Blog, Capitol Hill Brief | No Comments

In 2013, I made my first visit to Israel where I was forever changed.  I dare say no one can walk into Yad Vashem, Israel’s Holocaust museum, and not be marked forever.  Even more than the Holocaust museum in Washington, it is a reminder of our responsibility in world affairs.

It is also a reminder for us as Christians.  We must remember that the Old Testament serves as the Israelis’ deed to their home, the Promised Land.  This is not a popular opinion these days.  But as believers, we must ask, “do we really believe what we read in Scriptures?”

I hope to shed some light on this topic for you as you read through Feisty and Feminine.  Pick up a copy today!

Capitol Hill Brief — Women and Sharia Law

By | Blog, Capitol Hill Brief | No Comments

Here is a blunt discussion you’ll find in my book, Feisty & Feminine: A Rallying Cry for Conservative Women, that you’ll likely not hear from your modern-day feminist.

The status of women in Islamic society is horrifying.  The abuse of women, really, around the world is heartbreaking.

But for all their fight for women’s rights, Western liberals are conspicuously silent on that issue simply because of political correctness.

Their screams on the GOP’s supposed “war on women” can be heard around the world, yet faced with a true and brutal battle being waged in the name of Sharia Law, they are paralyzed.

That is where you and I, as salt and light of the earth, must step in.

Capitol Hill Brief — Inside the Book

By | Blog, Capitol Hill Brief | No Comments

Here are some of the topics I deal with in my book, Feisty & Feminine: A Rallying Cry for Conservative Women:

  • The Devaluation of Women
  • Sexual Assault and Politics
  • Marriage and Tolerance
  • Abortion and the Sanctity of Human Life
  • The Real War Against Women
  • The Rise of Islamic Extremism
  • And Why Israel Matters

Now more than ever, there is a need for thoughtful, compelling, conservative women to boldly affirm the conservative principles of our Biblical worldview.  We all need to equip ourselves with the language necessary to pierce the hearts and minds of our contemporaries and our young women.

Feisty & Feminine is design to help you do just that. I hope you take the time to read it.

Capitol Hill Brief — Time to Stand Up

By | Blog, Capitol Hill Brief | No Comments

Leaders, prayer warriors, conservative women of all walks of life, it’s time for us to stand up and be heard.  That’s why I wrote, Feisty & Feminine: A Rallying Cry for Conservative Women.

I want to encourage you to find your voice and join the millions of women who, like you, want to honor God and serve our neighbors in an honest, compassionate, fearless way.

For too long we’ve been dismissed as “old-fashioned, humorless prudes” by a malicious faction that presents a caricature of who we are and what we represent.

It’s time we defeat the lies and present the truth to a world that is in desperate need of the thoughtful, caring voices of women.

Capitol Hill Brief — The Trickle-Down Effect

By | Blog, Capitol Hill Brief | No Comments

The consequences of the overwhelming leftist ideology being pushed at our public universities are numerous. The trickle-down effect to lower educational institutions is a very troublesome one.

You might have seen a recent viral video of assistant principal Zach Ruff at the prestigious Downingtown STEM Academy in Pennsylvania shouting down two teens who were standing on the sidewalk defending unborn babies and sharing the Gospel.

He repeatedly yelled that unborn babies were just cells.

At the first mention of Jesus, the assistant principal got in the face of one student and said, “I’m as gay as the day is long, and twice as sunny,” and cursed at the name of Jesus.

We must pray.

Capitol Hill Brief — Anti-Israel Efforts

By | Blog, Capitol Hill Brief | No Comments

Do you know that a considerable share of the silencing efforts on college campuses have targeted Israelis and other supporters of Israel?

Michael Oren, a distinguished historian who was famously shut down at University of California at Irvine.  Moshe Halbertal, the world-renowned Israeli philosopher, was disrupted at the University of Minnesota. Israeli-Arab Bassem Eid was recently disrupted at the University of Chicago.  And even the distinguished Mayor of Jerusalem, Nir Barkat, was blocked from speaking at San Francisco State University.

These incidents are not organic.  They are a calculated, strategic attack by radical extremists.

We must stand against them.

Capitol Hill Brief — Attacks on Religious Speech

By | Blog, Capitol Hill Brief | No Comments

We’ve been discussing the attacks on free speech in college campuses this week, but I want you to be aware that the attacks on religious speech are also on the rise.

At Northern Arizona University, a student was recently accosted by a professor and faculty for his Christian conservative views. He was even chastised for reading his Bible before class!

“Why do you have your Bible out anyway?” the administrator asked, as he instructed the student to take a backseat in the classroom.

Friends, this there is a spiritual battle happening on our college campuses, and we must engage.  Please pray for our Young Women for America college chapters and support them in any way you can.

Capitol Hill Brief — Join YWA in Prayer

By | Blog, Capitol Hill Brief | No Comments

You’ve probably heard of the shameful silencing of conservative voices in college campuses.

Recent events include the violent shout down of author and scholar Charles Murray at Middlebury College, UC-Berkeley’s mistreatment of Anne Coulter (which is now the subject of a Free Speech lawsuit) and many more, like, Ben Shapiro and David Horowitz have been targeted for silencing by radical groups.

The most shameful part about this is that the administrators at these state-funded schools are caving to these radical groups and violating the rights of the speakers and conservative school groups that invite them.

Would you join Concerned Women for America’s Young Women for America chapters in prayer as we do our part to curtail this trend?

Capitol Hill Brief — Campus Free Speech

By | Blog, Capitol Hill Brief, News and Events | No Comments

What is happening in America’s college campuses should be troubling for all of us.  Not only is a radical liberal philosophy overwhelmingly predominant at most state universities, but now they’re trying to silence the few conservative voices that are invited to speak.

Before conservative speakers can even address students at these schools, radical groups use the threat of violence to force school administrations to cancel the event.

The assault on freedom of speech is setting a dangerous precedent that will blossom in hideous ways if we do not fight back.

Thankfully, Concerned Women for America’s Young Women for America college chapters are doing just that — shining the light of freedom and liberty in colleges and universities.
